According to the study, there were 1.75 million road traffic accidents in 2023 in China. About 500,000 people died and 60,000 people got hurt because of traffic accidents.
Every year, thousands of people get hurt or die when they are crossing the road. Most of these people are old people and children. The old people often get hurt or die because they can't see or hear well. So they shouldn't cross the road alone. Children usually meet with accidents because they are unwary. They forget to look and listen before they cross the road.
All of us must follow the traffic rules. There is risk on the road. If drivers drive too fast, it will be difficult to stop the cars in a very short time. For the pedestrians(行人), it's important to be careful when they are walking on the road. So when we walk across the road, we must try to walk along the pavements(人行道). We must stop and look both sides before crossing the road.
Look left first, next look right, and then look left again. Only when we are sure that the road is clear, we can cross it. The proper way to cross the road is to walk quickly. It's not safe to run. If people run across the road, they may fall down. Students should try to help old people or blind people to cross the road, and never play in the street.

Every year, there are a lot of car accidents in Great Britain. And about two hundred thousand people are hurt. So we must pay attention to the traffic rules when we are on the road.
There are rules to make the roads safe, but people do not always follow the rules. Some people cross the road in a hurry before the traffic light turns green. If everybody follows the rules, the roads will be much safer. How can we make the roads safer
Remember this rule. In Great Britain, traffic keeps to the left. Cars, buses and bikes must all keep to the left side of the road. In China, traffic keeps to the right.
Before crossing the road, stop and look at both sides. Look right and left. Then, if there are no cars on the road, it will be safe to cross the road. If you see young children or old people, help them to cross the road. We must teach children to cross the road safely. We must always set a good example to them. Everyone must not play in the street. It's dangerous and sometimes it will cause(导致) worse accidents.

By Zhang Hua
I would like to share an accident happened to me.Last Friday, my friend asked me to go to the park with him. I couldn't wait to see my friend, so I rode fast on the way.
Unluckily, a car hit me while I was riding on the road. At that time, the car's driver was talking on the phone. I fell off my bike and my leg hurt badly. The driver sent me to the hospital as soon as possible. I stayed in hospital for three days.
So my advice is: Never ride too fast and never talk on the phone when driving a car! And we must follow the traffic rules.Pay attention to our safety.
