[2024保定涿州期末改编]Wenchuan Earthquake caused a huge loss to people. It has been worried widely about what we can do when we meet accidents. Therefore, how to deal with accidents in our daily life
Earthquake is the first thing that I want to talk about. Firstly, you need to rush to open space quickly if you are on a lower floor. Meanwhile, you should avoid trees or wires (电线) around you. You need to stay in a corner which seems hard enough if you are in a higher building. Do not be a jumper! You should keep your body safe and wait for others to help you.
When it comes to fire, you need to know the direction of the fire and find out security exits. The best way is to cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel. Then you should stay close to the floor and move quickly. Do not use elevators.
Another accident is drowning(溺水). Experts say that we might drown if we struggle(挣扎) as possible as we can, because it would make the water
flow more quickly. What we should do is "To take a deep breath, lie on the water and wait for others to save us."
In a word, all kinds of accidents will happen in our daily life. The most necessary thing is to keep calm and find the exact way. We should believe we can not only get a chance to save ourselves but also help others if we learn about how to deal with them in the first place.

原创题 During the Tang Dynasty (618 AD-907 AD), Emperor Taizong asked the prime minister (宰相) Feng Deyi to recommend(推荐) talented people. However, several months passed, Feng didn't recommend anyone.
"I tried my best, but there are not unusual and perfect people at all," Feng said.
"People are like utensils(器皿). What we need to do is to make good use of their strengths. You should blame(把……归咎于) yourself for not noticing talented people. How could you say that there are no talented people in our era " said the emperor.
Indeed, each utensil or tool has a specific function(功能). A knife is made to cut things while chopsticks are made to pick up food. We can't use a knife as a pair of chopsticks. Like a utensil, each person has a particular strength. Nobody is perfect. We can't expect a person to be good at everything.
With this idea in mind, Emperor Taizong discovered many talented people with different backgrounds. He offered them important positions, which helped them make the most of their talents. His talented people helped the society develop and created a "golden age".
A good example is Ma Zhou, who grew up in a poor family. Ma gave a lot of useful advice, so Emperor Taizong offered him a position and promoted(提升) him many times. Ma helped the emperor deal with complicated issues and became a well-known person in history.
Chang Sheng, a Chinese teacher at the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China, explains as follows:
As long as a person is talented in one aspect, we should give him a chance. Treating people as utensils shows not only good leadership, but a sincere attitude.
Today, as the labor is being divided more and more clearly, the idea still makes sense. If we become leaders someday, we should help others give full play to(充分发挥) their strengths.
1Why couldn't Feng Deyi find any talented people in Taizong's opinion
A. Because there were no talented people then.
B. Because his standards were wrong.
C. Because he was afraid of being replaced.
D. Because he was dissatisfied with the emperor.
2Knives and chopsticks are compared to .
A. positions B. strengths C. tools D. people
3Ma Zhou is a good example of people who .
A. have no talent but are still useful
B. are unusual and perfect
C. know when to take a chance
D. show talent in the right field
4What might be Chang Sheng's opinion
A. People with any talent should be valued.

C. Using people as tools is taking advantage of them.
D. Using people as tools doesn't work today.
