Unit 3 Getting along with others
Welcome to the unit & Reading (I)
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne.
And here’s a hand, my trusty friend,
So put your hand in mine
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
…
Auld lang syne
The glory(光荣,光辉)of friendship is not the outstretched(伸出的) hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship(陪伴); it is the spiritual(精神的) inspiration(鼓励) that comes to one when he discover that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him.
友谊的光辉并不在于伸出的援手或者善意的微笑,也不在于陪伴的快乐。它是当一个人发现其他人相信他并愿意信任他时得到的精神鼓舞。

This friendship is worth saving.
It’s time to rethink your friendship .
To have a full and frank talk.
To listen to what she has to say.
To explain how you feel.
If your friend ignores your feelings or makes you
suffer, it's time to rethink your friendship.
Part 2. Please advise!
What are the pieces of advice from Cindy and David
Cindy: I'm so sorry! But this friendship is worth saving: eight years is a long time! Don't be so quick to judge your friend. Perhaps she knows she's in the wrong and wants to apologize, or maybe she has a simple explanation for her behaviour. In any case, find an opportunity to have a full and frank talk with her. Listen to what she has to say, and be sure to explain how you feel. I'm sure you can solve this problem together.
David: I definitely understand how you feel. I also had a friend whom I trusted a lot. When I found out that I was tricked by him, I was really hurt and let go of our friendship. I know you value your friendship and want your friend to value it equally, However, if your friend ignores your feelings or makes you suffer, it's time to rethink your relationship. Talk to her and decide whether this friendship is still important to you. It's sad to move on, but you have to accept that friends come and go in life.

My best friend Amy misunderstands me.
I was ill last Saturday and spent the whole morning resting at home.
But later I got a call from an old friend, she asked me out for a cup of coffee and I said yes.
Somehow, Amy knew it and got so angry with me.
