1.定位:返回原文,找出名词(短语)所在句;
2.代入:将四个选项代入该名词(短语),看意思是否通顺;
因果关系的语境通常由because, so, thus, therefore, as a result of, so that, so/such...that...
体现对比关系的词语很多,常见的有but, yet, however, while, unlike, instead of, on the other hand, rather than, on the contrary等。
常见的表示同义关系的词或短语有and, or, like, as well, similarly, too, also, either等。
1.做题留痕,依据题干在原文圈划答题区间;
2.划掉错项,去伪存真,快速作答提升效率;

(2024新课标II卷第32题) Given the astonishing potential of AI to transform our lives, we all need to take action to deal with our AI-powered future, and this is where AI by Design: A Plan for Living with Artificial Intelligence comes in. This absorbing new book by Catriona Campbell is a practical roadmap addressing the challenges posed by the forthcoming AI revolution (变革).
In the wrong hands, such a book could prove as complicated to process as the computer code (代码) that powers AI but, thankfully, Campbell has more than two decades’ professional experience translating the heady into the understandable. She writes from the practical angle of a business person rather than as an academic, making for a guide which is highly accessible and informative and which, by the close, will make you feel almost as smart as AI.
As we soon come to learn from AI by Design, AI is already super-smart and will become more capable, moving from the current generation of “narrow-AI” to Artificial General Intelligence. From there, Campbell says, will come Artificial Dominant Intelligence. This is why Campbell has set out to raise awareness of AI and its future now-several decades before these developments are expected to take place. She says it is essential that we keep control of artificial intelligence, or risk being sidelined and perhaps even worse.
Campbell’s point is to wake up those responsible for AI-the technology companies and world leaders-so they are on the same page as all the experts currently developing it. She explains we are at a “tipping point” in history and must act now to prevent an extinction-level event for humanity. We need to consider how we want our future with Al to pan out. Such structured thinking, followed by global regulation, will enable us to achieve greatness rather than our downfall.
AI will affect us all, and if you only read one book on the subject, this is it.

A. It is packed with complex codes.
B. It adopts a down-to-earth writing style.
C. It provides step-by-step instructions.
D. It is intended for AI professionals.
34. What does Campbell urge people to do regarding AI development
A. Observe existing regulations on it.
B. Reconsider expert opinions about it.
C. Make joint efforts to keep it under control.
D. Learn from prior experience to slow it down.
35. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text
A. To recommend a book on AI.
B. To give a brief account of AI history.
C. To clarify the definition of AI.
D. To honor an outstanding AI expert.

(2024·山西临汾·三模)When does spring begin For some, it’s the second Sunday in March, when we turn our clocks forward by an hour in the United States. For others, it’s when they first realize they’ve finished dinner and it’s still light out. This year, impatient as ever for winter to end, I decided to skip my usual routine of calendar watching and see if I couldn’t do something to speed up spring’s arrival.
It’s only a three-hour flight from La Guardia (rainy, cold), New York to West Palm Beach (sunny, 81 degrees, slight breeze), Florida and from there an hour’s drive to Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, the spring training home of the New York Mets, where the traffic of more than 7,000 fans descended. Here in Port St. Lucie on a Tuesday afternoon, weeks before the season’s official start, cheery fans were dressed in lightweight clothing, drinking Modelo Especial and snacking on peanuts, heckling (起哄) the players. Here, spring was already happening.
Being outdoors in the sunshine and fresh air, things do feel slower and easier. I love that baseball has long been considered America’s national pastime. A pastime is something that makes the passing of time pleasant. Isn’t that what we’re dying for in the winter months Something that makes time not just tolerable but enjoyable
By the time I left Florida, it was pouring rain and even a little chilly. How was I supposed to take springtime home with me, I wondered fiercely. It was still raining in New York when I landed. Spring isn’t just weather, of course, and it certainly makes no promises about rain. I'm trying to resist cliché (陈词滥调), to keep from saying something similar to “spring is a state of mind,” even though I wish it were.
I went looking for spring and I found it where spring breakers find it every year, already in full swing in the Sunshine State. My own official removal of woolen coats will occur on Tuesday, when spring finally arrives. But having experienced 24 hours of spring’s full pageant (盛会), my own little preseason, I feel slightly pacified. Perhaps I can be patient as spring establishes itself, and offer the season a little grace as it clicks into place.
1. What is presented in Paragraph 1
A. Spring falls on a fixed date.
B. Spring came late this year.
C. The author was longing for spring restlessly.
D. The author was celebrating the end of winter.
2. How did the author find Port St. Lucie
A. A fast-paced world. B. Full of a joyful atmosphere.
C. The birthplace of baseball. D. Home to delicious food.
3. What does the underlined word “pacified” in the last paragraph mean
A. Puzzled. B. Disappointed. C. Curious. D. Calm.
4. What can be a suitable title for the text
A. In Search of Spring B. In Praise of Spring
C. A Trip to Florida D. A Farewell to New York
(2024·吉林长春·模拟预测)Since young children went back to school across Sweden recently, many of their teachers have been putting a new emphasis on printed books, quiet reading time and handwriting practice, and devoting less time to tablets, independent online research and keyboarding skills.
The return to more traditional ways of learning is a response to politicians and experts questioning whether Sweden’s hyper-digitalized approach to education, including the introduction of tablets in nursery schools, had led to a decline in basic skills.
Sweden’s minister for schools, Lotta Edholm was one of the biggest critics of the all-out embrace of technology. “Sweden’s students need more textbooks,” Edholm said in March. “Physical books are important for student learning.” The minister announced in August that the government wanted to change the decision by the national agency for education to make digital devices compulsory in preschools. It plans to go further and to completely end digital learning for children under age six, the ministry has told the Associated Press.
Although Sweden’s students score above the European average for reading ability, an international assessment of fourth-grade reading levels, the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), highlighted a decline among Sweden’s children between 2016 and 2021.
In comparison, Singapore — which topped the rankings — improved its PIRLS reading scores from 576 to 587 during the same period, and England’s average reading achievement score fell only slightly, from 559 in 2016 to 558 in 2021. An overuse of screens during school lessons may cause youngsters to fall behind in core subjects, education experts say. “There’s clear scientific evidence that digital tools impair rather than enhance student learning,” Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, a highly respected medical school focused on research, said in a statement in August on the country’s national digitalization strategy in education.
“We believe the focus should return to acquiring knowledge through printed textbooks and teacher expertise, rather than acquiring knowledge primarily from freely available digital sources that have not been checked for accuracy.” the school added.
5. Why do Swedish schools return to paper books
A. To cater to parents’ increasing needs.
B. To help with children’s independent learning.
C. To overcome children’s addiction to digital tools.
D. To avoid possible decline in children’s basic skills.
6. What does the underlined words “all-out embrace” mean in Paragraph 3
A. Total acceptance. B. Creative use.
C. Rapid development. D. Serious addiction.
7. What might Karolinska Institute agree with
A. Teachers should acquire more knowledge.
B. Knowledge from digital tools may not be reliable.
C. Digital tools smooth out learning barriers for children.
D. The accessibility to digital sources should be improved.
8. Which of the following is a suitable title for the text
A. Swedish Children’s Return to Paper B. Problems with Children’s Education
C. Popularity of Digitalization in Sweden D. Enhancement of Teaching Strategies in Sweden
(2024·湖南岳阳·三模)Debra Ferrell got the standard well wishes on Facebook on her 53rd birthday, but she got some unusual messages too. One was about a family in Minnesota who had just lost their four-year-old son to cancer. His older brother, autistic (患孤独症的) and nonverbal, was extremely sad. Could Ferrell help
That message and the 30 or so others like it were exactly what Ferrell was looking for. To celebrate her 53rd, the longtime social service professional and well-known sweetie had put out a call on her Facebook page. She wanted to commit 53 random acts of kindness by the end of her birth month, and she needed information on people who could use one. When she got the note about the Minnesota family, she sent a wind chime (风铃) with the message “Listen to the wind and know that I am near” written on the clapper. It now hangs in the four-year-old’s bedroom, where his brother can go to listen to it whenever he wants.
This is not the first time that Ferrell decided to give gifts for her birthday. For her 47th, in 2014, she founded Love with Skin On, an organization dedicated to doing good deeds near her home in Roanoke, Virginia, and beyond. Its motto is simple: Be Love, Do Stuff.
Over the years, Ferrell has reached out and touched well over 100 strangers, some found via Facebook callouts, others with help from her grandkids. In another act of giving, she shares her favorite inexpensive and creative gift ideas on Pinterest for others to use.
Ferrell pays for everything herself: gift cards, pay-it-forward purchases at drive-throughs, and care packages, as well as the gas it takes to play fairy godmother. Her family often gives her some extra birthday cash with a serious warning not to spend it on anyone else, which she naturally ignores. “I got a couple of Amazon gift cards for my birthday this year and was like ‘YESSS!’” It’s Ferrell’s party, and she’ll give if she wants to.

A. Messages asking for help. B. Random acts of kindness.

(2023新课标I卷第27题) Turning soil, pulling weeds, and harvesting cabbage sound like tough work for middle and high school kids. And at first it is, says Abby Jaramillo, who with another teacher started Urban Sprouts, a school garden program at four low-income schools. The program aims to help students develop science skills, environmental awareness, and healthy lifestyles.
Jaramillo’s students live in neighborhoods where fresh food and green space are not easy to find and fast food restaurants outnumber grocery stores. “The kids literally come to school with bags of snacks and large bottles of soft drinks,” she says. “They come to us thinking vegetables are awful, dirt is awful, insects are awful.” Though some are initially scared of the insects and turned off by the dirt, most are eager to try something new.
Urban Sprouts’ classes, at two middle schools and two high schools, include hands-on experiments such as soil testing, flower-and-seed dissection, tastings of fresh or dried produce, and work in the garden. Several times a year, students cook the vegetables they grow, and they occasionally make salads for their entire schools.
Program evaluations show that kids eat more vegetables as a result of the classes. “We have students who say they went home and talked to their parents and now they’re eating differently,” Jaramillo says.
She adds that the program’s benefits go beyond nutrition. Some students get so interested in gardening that they bring home seeds to start their own vegetable gardens. Besides, working in the garden seems to have a calming effect on Jaramillo’s special education students, many of whom have emotional control issues. “They get outside,” she says, “and they feel successful.”
24. What do we know about Abby Jaramillo
A. She used to be a health worker. B. She grew up in a low-income family.
C. She owns a fast food restaurant. D. She is an initiator of Urban Sprouts.
25. What was a problem facing Jaramillo at the start of the program
A. The kids’ parents distrusted her. B. Students had little time for her classes.
C. Some kids disliked garden work. D. There was no space for school gardens.
26. Which of the following best describes the impact of the program
A. Far-reaching. B. Predictable.
C. Short-lived. D. Unidentifiable.
27. What can be a suitable title for the text
A. Rescuing School Gardens B. Experiencing Country Life
C. Growing Vegetable Lovers D. Changing Local Landscape

(2024·河南驻马店·二模)The blind corners of Canadian Motorsports Park pushed Oscar Casasola to the limits as he sped around the racetrack, expertly driving behind the wheel of a flashy Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. Then he powered down his computer and prepared for his lessons.
“I first fell in love with cars and motorsports when I watched the movie Cars with Lightning McQueen as a young child”, the University of Maryland student said. “As I entered into my professional career, looking at my marketing and finance degrees, I started to think about how I could fit those professional aspects into the motorsports industry.”
That attraction to the action and excitement — combined with the high cost of becoming a race car driver — eventually led him to simulated racing But as Casasola researched to upgrade his gaming gear (装备), he noticed a gap in the product reviews, “What I came across was just outdated videos of people talking for, like, half an hour long, 50-year-old guys going on about some wheel.”
He started posting his videos on TikTok, with reviews and racing content full of humor and commentary. As the clips started racking up (积累) views, two major simulated racing companies, Thrustmaster and Next Level Racing, sent him gear to feature. Things “snowballed from there,” Casasola said, with his YouTube channel launching in 2020, companies emailing him weekly to review their products, and his audience steadily expanding.
Casasola’s experience in the Robert H. Smith School of Business, where he’s also working on his master’s degree in management, has helped him promote the channel’s growth. (2024·陕西榆林·模拟预测)In spring 1955, Rosalynn Carter was doing what she had been avoiding since she married Jimmy Carter: keeping house and raising children in the same tiny town where they grew up.
But her husband called for help from his family’s farm one day and said that he couldn’t manage the farm on his own. So Rosalynn Carter gathered their sons and returned to the tiny town. Soon she was managing finances and handling customers. “Finally, I got used to our new life and knew more about the business than he did, and he would take my advice about things,” Rosalynn Carter told The Associated Press in 2021.
Their marriage was almost a decade old when she went to the farm, but that was perhaps the true beginning of a partnership that helped Jimmy Carter win the Georgia governor’s office in 1970 and then the White House in 1976. Six years later, they co-founded The Carter Center and committed themselves to charity work for four decades in more than 145 countries, where many children, now adults, were named Jimmy or Rosalynn or Carter. Along that path was a small-town love story that included 77 years of marriage and two decades of family friendship before that. Their shared journey ended on November 19, 2023, with Rosalynn’s death at the age of 96.
“It’s hard to think of one of them without the other,” said Jill Stuckey, a longtime friend who saw the couple often during Rosalynn Carter’s last months. “When Jimmy was president. she even attended all White House meetings and discussed what she heard with him at home. They had nightly phone calls when they traveled separately.”
“Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished.” Jimmy Carter said in a statement released upon her death. “She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.”

Richard Feynman was arguably the second best known physicist after Einstein. But she is not the only distinguished scientist in the Feynman family.
Born in 1927, Joan Feynman grew up in Queens, New York, alongside her older brother Richard. He would become Joan’s first teacher and someone who helped develop her curious nature, believing her capable of learning all the math and science he could teach her. She would try to solve math problems for the unique reward of getting to pull her brother’s hair and serving as his “lab assistant” at the age of five. For her fourteenth birthday, Richard gave Feynman a copy of Astronomy by Rebecca Horace Baker, a college-level physics text, which both taught her about physics and what was possible. Feynman credited it for proving to her that women could indeed have a career doing science.
Feynman would go on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College, before she attended Syracuse University, studying condensed matter theory and earning a PhD in 1958. By 1960, Feynman was married with two children and she decided to take a break from physics to take on the role of homemaker.
The break was short-lived, as Feynman grew depressed from keeping a home and caring for two small children. In 1962, at the advice of a psychologist, she went in search of employment, securing three job offers at multiple institutes. At Lamont, where she worked part-time, Feynman began her research into Earth’s magnetosphere, identifying its shape.
Over the course of her career, Feynman made many breakthroughs in furthering the understanding of solar wind and its interaction with the Earth’s magnetosphere. As author or co-author of more than 185 papers, Feynman’s research accomplishments range from discovering the shape of the Earth’s magnetosphere to identifying the origin of auroras. In 1974, she would become the first woman ever elected as an officer of the American Geophysical Union, and in 2000 she was awarded NASA’s Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal.
“Joan Feynman leaves a wealth of scientific accomplishments, having made important contributions,” said APS CEO Kate Kirby. “Despite being discouraged to pursue science by social expectations, she persevered, and her accomplishments serve as an inspiration to women who wish to pursue a career in science.”
9. How did Richard influence Joan
A. By preparing her for subjects in college.
B. By introducing her to the world of science.
C. By teaching her the importance of astronomy.
D. By offering her a job serving as his lab assistant.
10. What can be inferred from the passage
A. All women scientists have benefited from Joan’s inspiration.
B. In Joan’s time women were encouraged to become scientists.
C. Pursuing scientific goals contributed to Joan’s psychological well-being.
D. As her first teacher, Richard designed Joan’s career path as an astronomer.
11. Which best describes Joan Feynman as a scientist
A. Successful and wealthy. B. Optimistic and hardworking.
C. Popular and ambitious. D. Productive and acknowledged.
12. What is the best title for the passage
A. Joan Feynman: Survivor of Depression
B. Joan Feynman: Sister of Richard Feynman

1.定位:返回原文,找出名词(短语)所在句;
2.代入:将四个选项代入该名词(短语),看意思是否通顺;
1.做题留痕,依据题干在原文圈划答题区间;
2.划掉错项,去伪存真,快速作答提升效率;
32. What does the phrase “In the wrong hands” in paragraph 2 probably mean
A. If read by someone poorly educated.
B. If reviewed by someone ill-intentioned.
C. If written by someone less competent.
D. If translated by someone unacademic.
33. What is a feature of AI by Design according to the text
C 33. B 34. C 35. A

2. How did the author find Port St. Lucie
A. A fast-paced world. B. Full of a joyful atmosphere.

D 6. A 7. B 8. A

故选A。
根据最后一段““We believe the focus should return to acquiring knowledge through printed textbooks and teacher expertise, rather than acquiring knowledge primarily from freely available digital sources that have not been checked for accuracy.” the school added.(“我们认为,重点应该回归到通过印刷教科书和教师专业知识获取知识,而不是主要从未经准确性检查的免费数字资源获取知识。”学校补充道)”可知,卡罗林斯卡学院可能会同意来自数字工具的知识可能不可靠。故选B。
8. 主旨大意题。根据第一段“Since young children went back to school across Sweden recently, many of their teachers have been putting a new emphasis on printed books, quiet reading time and handwriting practice, and devoting less time to tablets, independent online research and keyboarding skills.(自从瑞典各地的孩子们最近回到学校以来,他们的许多老师都把新的重点放在了印刷书籍、安静的阅读时间和书写练习上,减少了花在平板电脑、独立在线研究和键盘技能上的时间)”结合文章主要说明了瑞典学校回归纸质书是为了避免儿童基本技能的可能下降,引用了各界人士对此的看法和态度。 故选A。
9. What did Debra Ferrell receive on her birthday
A. Messages asking for help. B. Random acts of kindness.
C. Gifts from Love with Skin On. D. Wishes on different social media.
10. What does the underlined word “It” in paragraph 2 refer to
A. The clapper. B. The wind chime. C. The message. D. The note.
11. What can be concluded from the last paragraph
A. Ferrel will hold a party.
B. Ferrel cares little about her family.
C. Ferrel will continue helping strangers.
D. Ferrel pays for everything for her family.
12. Which of the following words can best describe Ferrell
A. Generous and loving. B. Selfless and independent.

“They come to us thinking vegetables are awful, dirt is awful, insects are awful.” Though some are initially scared of the insects and turned off by the dirt, most are eager to try something new.(她说。“他们来找我们,认为蔬菜很可怕,泥土很可怕,昆虫也很可怕。”虽然有些人一开始害怕昆虫,对泥土感到厌烦,但大多数人都渴望尝试新的东西。)”可知,项目之初,一些学生不喜欢园艺工作。故选C。
26. 推理判断题。根据最后一段“She adds that the program’s benefits go beyond nutrition. Some students get so interested in gardening that they bring home seeds to start their own vegetable gardens. Besides, working in the garden seems to have a calming effect on Jaramillo’s special education students, many of whom have emotional control issues. “They get outside,” she says, “and they feel successful.”(她补充说,该计划的好处不仅仅是营养。有些学生对园艺非常感兴趣,他们带回家种子开始自己的菜园。此外,在花园里工作似乎对Jaramillo的特殊教育学生有镇静作用,他们中的许多人都有情绪控制问题。“他们走了出去,”她说,“他们觉得成功。”)”可知,这个项目不仅给学生提供了有营养的食物,而且许多学生回家开创了自己的菜园,对有情绪控制问题的学生也起到了镇静作用,从而推知,该项目的影响是深远的。故选A。
根据第一段的“And at first it is, says Abby Jaramillo, who with another teacher started Urban Sprouts, a school garden program at four low-income schools. The program aims to help students develop science skills, environmental awareness, and healthy lifestyles.(起初是这样的,艾比 哈拉米洛说,她和另一位老师在四所低收入学校启动了“Urban Sprouts”学校花园项目。该项目旨在帮助学生培养科学技能、环保意识和健康的生活方式。)”和最后一段的“Some students get so interested in gardening that they bring home seeds to start their own vegetable gardens.(一些学生对园艺非常感兴趣,于是他们把种子带回家,开始种自己的菜园)”以及下文内容可知,文章主要讲述了Abby Jaramillo等老师在低收入学校发起的培养学生科学能力,环保意识以及健康生活方式的Urban Sprouts花园项目,让学生种植蔬菜,对学生影响深远。

That attraction to the action and excitement — combined with the high cost of becoming a race car driver — eventually led him to simulated racing (2024·陕西榆林·模拟预测)In spring 1955, Rosalynn Carter was doing what she had been avoiding since she married Jimmy Carter: keeping house and raising children in the same tiny town where they grew up.
5. How did Rosalynn Carter probably feel when she was asked to work on the farm
A. Interested. B. Unconcerned. C. Proud. D. Unwilling.

B. They ran for the Georgia governor’s office.
C. They started to do charity work in the world.

7. What did Jill Stuckey say about the Carters
A. Rosalynn Carter was an ambitious woman.
B. The couple were very attached to each other.
C. Jimmy Carter was not a qualified president.
D. They should not share the secret information.
