English is important and useful to us.How can we learn it well
First, listening to something interesting is the secret to language learning. We should practice listening by listening to tapes and repeating out loud. We must pay much attention to listening to the teacher carefully and taking notes in class. remember to review the notes at home. Watching English movies is also helpful to us. Second, we should speak English during or after class as much as possible. For example ,we can have conversations with friends to practice pronunciation. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. The more you speak , the fewer mistakes you'll make. Third, we can read more English magazines and newspapers. When we read. we should read word groups to get the main ideas. if you don't know a word's meaning, we should try to guess its meaning by reading the sentences before and after it. Try not to look it up in the dictionary. At last, It's too necessary to get much writing practice. We could keep an English diary every day and write e-mails in English to our pen pals to practice writing .
In a word, as long we do more listening, speaking, reading and writing, we will learn English well.

The Spring Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. It's often celebrated in January or February. In our country people celebrate it in many ways. On this day, people in the north of China always eat dumplings and people in the south are used to eating tang yuan. After the big dinner, some people like watching the Spring Festival Gala.（春晚） They think that it's really fantastic. My life has changed a lot in the last few years.
I used to be short and thin but now I’m tall and strong. I used to have short straight hair but now I have long curly hair. I used to be quiet but now I become humorous. I used to be silent but now I become active in many activities. In fact, I used to be afraid of giving speeches in public because of my shyness. But now I dare to speak in front of crowds.
The biggest change in my life was becoming much better in English. This is thanks to my English teacher. She gave me an interesting book to read. I enjoyed it so much that I started to read other English books. In the past, I didn’t use to like English. And I used to play computer games every day. But now I become very interested in English. This is the most important change because I am no longer afraid of the English language and I’m getting better and better scores in my exams. This has made my parents even prouder of me. Besides, my lifestyle has changed a lot. In the past, I used to eat lots of junk food. But now I’m used to cooking meals at home. Also,I seldom exercised but now I exercise twice a week.
In general, I like the changes in my life. They have a great influence on my life. Good habits help me to study better and keep healthier.

I am not allowed to spend too much time watching TV or surfing the Internet on school days. They think I must do my homework and go over lessons. But I'm allowed to do that on weekends. Also, I'm not allowed to choose my own clothes. They think I am too young to do that .What's more, I'm not allowed to go out with my friends at night. They think it's dangerous and sometimes we may cause trouble.

My Favorite TV Show

I love it because it makes me laugh when I watch them. Laughing for an hour is a good way to relax. I think it is not only funny but also there is a lesson there. It reminds me of the days of childhood. After watching it, I'm filled with energy again. Whatever you do, don't miss the cartoon. It is really worth watching.

In our house, you’re supposed to shakes hands with my family and say "ni hao" with a smile . When you go out with people, you are expected to call first. An Unforgettable Experience
An experience that made me unforgettable was winning the school English competition last year.
At first,/To start with, I didn’t know what to write for my speech, but after talking to my teacher and reading some books, I had some ideas and started writing. Then I practiced my speech many times.On the day of the competition, I saw many people there. This made me feel very nervous. Then I remembered what my teacher told me -- close my eyes and take deep breaths. I did that and it made me feel much better. When my turn came, I gave my speech with confidence.The next day, when I heard that I won the first prize, I jumped up and down in joy.
This experience taught me that preparing well (做好准备）is very important. Most importantly, have confidence/believe in yourself.

Now more and more people have realized these problems. I think that governments should close down the factories that burn coal and put waste into the river. They must develop laws to stop people from littering everywhere. We should call on people to throw rubbish in the bins and save water and electricity . We should walk or ride bikes to school or work instead of driving. I suggest we should set up environmental protection groups and plant more trees. Everyone in our city should play a part in cleaning up the rivers and the streets.

A person I Will Miss the Most
How time flies! I can't believe my life in junior high school will be over. The person that I will miss the most is Mr. Li, who taught me English in Grade 7.
When I first started Grade 7, I was shy and did not dare to speak to anyone. My English was poor and I felt nervous when I had to answer questions in class. I had problems speaking even though I knew the answer. I felt quite unhappy with myself.
One day Mr. Li spoke to me after class. He encouraged me to speak slowly. He also told me that he believed I could speak well if I practiced more. I was touched by what he said and it made me work harder on my speaking skills. I became more confident. I improved so much that I won an English speech contest that year!
I will never fail to be thankful to Mr. Li for his advice and support. wherever I go, I will miss him very much . I hope he will be happy and healthy forever!
