Step 1 Lead-in : Warming up(复习旧识，营造氛围，导入新课)1. G o over the new words in M11 in groups.2. Ss use some main vocabulary to make sentences.3. Ss talk about ways of life in China and in the USA and England.4. Learn the new words in Unit 3.Step 2 The student can learn by themselves and ask some questions about the study1. Ss finish Part 1 alone and the check in groups.2. sum up the use of can.3. Ss finish Part 2 and Part 3 in the same way. And then sum up the use of must and need4. Ss talk about the different among can, needs and must.Step 3 The students can learn the main point with the help of the teacher, and solve the problems.(精讲点拨)Explain language points to the Ss.1, can （1）能，能够， 表现在的能力。（2）可以，表许可或允许相当于may（3）可能，表猜测，多用于否定句和疑问句， 肯定句中相当于may, might.2, must（1） 必须， 表命令或叮嘱（2） 肯定，一定 表肯定的猜测（3） 用must提问， 否定回答要用needn’t或doesn’t/ don’t have to 不必。（4）mustn’t 不可以， 不许，表禁止（5）can’t 不能， 语气不如mustn’t 强烈3, need，需要(1)行为动词 need to do/ need sth， (2)情态动词，need doStep 3 Effective practice, consolidate the knowledge(训练巩固)1.
