一、Teaching Objectives
1. Language objectives
Students will be able to master the key words and phrases related to TV shows, such as sitcom, news, talent show, etc.
Students will be able to use the sentence patterns “What do you think of... ”, “I hope to...”, “Do you plan to... ” to express their opinions and plans about TV shows.
2. Skill objectives
Improve students' reading and speaking skills through the activities in 3a - 3c.
Enable students to conduct a simple survey and report the results in English.
3. Emotional objectives
Cultivate students' interest in English learning and encourage them to communicate actively in English.
Help students understand the diversity of TV shows and form a rational attitude towards watching TV.

1. Master the key vocabulary and sentence patterns related to TV shows.
2. Be able to understand and complete the reading and speaking tasks in 3a - 3c accurately.

五、Teaching Procedure
Step 1: Lead-in (5 minutes)
1. Show some pictures of different TV shows on the PPT, such as sitcoms, news, talent shows, and ask students to name them.
2. Have a free talk with students about their favorite TV shows and why they like them.
Step 2: Reading comprehension (3a) (10 minutes)
1. Ask students to read the conversation in 3a silently and answer the following questions:
What does A plan to watch on TV tonight
What does B want to watch
2. Check the answers with the whole class.
3. Ask students to read the conversation aloud in pairs and underline the useful expressions and sentence patterns.
Step 3: Practice (3b) (10 minutes)
1. Ask students to look at the questions in 3b and think about their answers.
2. Invite several students to answer the questions one by one and share their opinions with the class.
3. Encourage other students to ask questions or make comments on their answers.
Step 4: Group survey (3c) (15 minutes)
1. Divide students into groups of four. Explain the task in 3c and show them the example on the PPT.
2. Each group member needs to ask the other three members about their preferences and plans for TV shows and fill in the table.
3. After the survey, each group selects a representative to report the results of their group to the class.
Step 5: Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
1. Summarize the key points of this lesson, including the vocabulary and sentence patterns about TV shows and the skills of expressing opinions and plans.
2. Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage about their own and their family's TV watching habits and preferences.

七、Teaching Reflection
In this lesson, students actively participated in various activities and showed a certain enthusiasm for learning. However, in the group survey part, some students had difficulties in expressing themselves accurately, which requires more practice and guidance in the future. Also, the time allocation of some tasks could be further optimized to ensure that each part of the teaching content is fully covered and students have enough time to consolidate and master the knowledge.
