本单元以“谈论后果”为话题,学生应学会由if连接的条件状语从句,掌握用will表示的一般将来时态以及情态动词should的正确使用方法。
一、if连接的条件状语从句
1. if意为“如果”,当引导条件状语从句时,既可以放在主句前面,也可以放在主句后面。若if引导的条件句放在句首,从句后面要加逗号与主句隔开。
2. 在if的条件状语从句中,主句为下列情形之一时,if条件状语从句要用一般现在时。
(1) 主句是一般将来时(主将从现)
(2) 主句是含有情态动词may / might / can / must / should等的句子
(3) 主句是祈使句
二、情态动词should的用法
should后跟动词原形,最基本的意思是“应该”——既可指有责任或义务“应该”做某事,也可指建议或劝告某人“应该”做某事,还可指推测某事或某情况“应该”会发生,等等。
