Study of the Text
What:
On the basis of Section A, this part further consolidates and deepens the topic content of this unit. The listening material introduces an accidental invention—potato chips by telling who they were invented by, when they were invented and how they were invented.
Why:
Activities 1a-1e are a complete chain of listening and speaking tasks. 1a and 1b allow students to use adjectives to express taste and prepare for the listening content. 1c and 1d let students obtain the information in listening in different forms to improve their listening skills. 1e asks students to retell the listening material by internalizing listening information, so as to promote their comprehensive language skills.
