They see an American, Henry Adams, lost and hungry in London with no money, wandering outside their house. They invite him in. They give him a letter, telling him there is money inside. He says he is looking for work, not charity. They tell him that they know he is hard-working and that they chose him because of his honesty. 一、由连接词that, whether, if引导的宾语从句

2. whether和if都意为“是否 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )”,通常情况下,二者都可以引导宾语从句,但在介词之后或直接与________连用时,只能用whether,不能用if(句3—句5)。
二、由连接代词who, what, whose, which引导的宾语从句
连接代词who, what,whose, which引导宾语从句时,在从句中充当主语、宾语或定语等(句6—句9)。
三、由连接副词when, where, why, how引导的宾语从句
连接代词when, where, why, how引导宾语从句时,在从句中充当状语(句10—句13)。

that引导的宾语从句后有形容词或名词作宾补时,须用it作形式宾语而将真正的宾语后置。如:
