【注意】用数字表示“某世纪”时,不要丢掉定冠词the。

2. Each line has a set number of words.
每行有一定数量的单词。
a number of意为“许多,大量”,与some或several同义,后面接可数名词复数。a number of短语作主语时,谓语动词往往用复数形式。a set number of“固定数量的”。
the number of意为“……的数目”,后接名词复数,谓语动词使用单数形式。

“another+数词+名词复数”相当于“数词+more+名词复数”,意为“再几个……”。

4. Here is how you can write your own five-line poem.
以下是你如何写自己的五行诗。
◆own意为“自己的,属于自己的”,用在形容词性物主代词后面加强语气。常用结构为“one’s own+名词”,意为“某人自己的……”。
◆a five-line poem意为“一首五行诗”。由“数词+名词”构成的复合形容词,中间用“-”连接,名词不用复数形式。

英语中用不同介词表达“用”:
in表示“用语言等”;with表示“用工具、手段、材料等”;by表示“用手段、方式等”。
