Their reaction to the rejection were dreadful, but they knew them well.
This is because their works have not been received by the publisher or certain ideas have not been accepted.
In face of the difficulties, they didn't give up, persevered in their efforts and ended in success. They succeeded in becoming famous writers after they overcome all the difficulties.

I once read Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Emily Bronte (1818-1848), born on July 30, 1818, in the small town of Saughton, Yorkshire, northern England, is the second of the "Bronte three Sisters", the masterpiece of Wuthering Heights. Of the three sisters, Emily is the one with the strongest feelings and the most personality. She has a tough personality, and her feelings are not so peaceful. Emily's feelings are not as peaceful as those of her sisters, which also gives her work Wuthering Heights a gloomy color, and it is full of violence and unreasonable. Wuthering Heights is not as easy to accept and likeable as Charlotte's Jane Eyre, perhaps the reason lies in this.
1. What can you learn from these writers
Stay true to your dreams and never give up.
3. Do you know of any other writer who had similar experiences Share their stories with the class.
4. What words and expressions from the passage have you used to tell these stories

Some useful expressions like this:
take for example, have ... in common, stick ...on, along the lines of, turn ... down, a total of, play a part and so on.
