Not only..., but also...句型,用于连接两个并列的结构,这个结构连接并列的主语时,谓语动词的数应与but (also)后面的主语一致。
1. 不仅你要参加运动会,我也得参加。
Not only you but also I am to take part in the sports meeting.
2. 他不但是一位美术家,而且还是一位著名的作家。
Not only was he an artist, but (also) he was a famous writer.
3. 他不仅来了,还给她带了漂亮的生日礼物。
Not only did he come, but also he brought her a nice birthday present.
【名师点睛】
not only...but (also)...连接的并列句,当not only置于句首时,其后的部分要用部分倒装,but (also)后的部分不用倒装。即:Not only+be/助动词/情态动词+主语+其他成分,but also+正常语序。
