On 21 September, the first Community Street Festival in our city was held on Redwood Street. The festival was highly successful, attracting over 10,000 people from over 20 communities. The weather was good, although it rained heavily in the morning. The performers were rather good and well received by the public.

People (attending the event) were mainly families. There were people of all ages. Most of them came from seven nearby communities. There were a wide variety of acts, most (of which were singing and dancing.) The acts (appealing to children) were particularly popular. First, she shared how to make them with us, after which she introduced some Beijing Opera masters. What impressed me most was that she sang some famous pieces of Beijing Opera. All of us , were all amazed by her performance, applauded warmly and couldn't help singing along.
I benefited a lot from the activity. It made me realize the importance of traditional Chinese culture. Beijing Opera is so wonderful that we should pass it down.
