Using although/though
We use although/though to contrast two clauses. Although is more formal than though.
我们使用although/though来对比两个从句。although比though更正式。
Colette insisted that Hepburn was the perfect girl for the lead role in the play,although Hepburn had never played any major roles before.
科莱特坚持认为赫本是担任这部剧主演的最佳人选，尽管赫本以前从未扮演过任何主要角色。
Although he was a great player at university, the NBA was not interested in him.尽管他在大学里是一位优秀的球员，但是NBA对他不感兴趣。
Though I like acting,I'd rather be a director.

although & though
although和though都有“尽管；虽然”之意，都可以引导让步状语从句。
though和although通常可以互换，但在
口语中though较为常用。
注意：英语中，though和although均不
能与but同时使用。
though和although的具体区别用法如下：
1. 用作连词，两者大致同义，可换用，只是although比though更为正式。
Although (或Though) it was cold, he didn't make a fire.
虽然天气很冷，他也没生火。
2. 在as though (好像、仿佛)，even
though (即使、纵然)等短语中不能用
although。
He talks as though he knew anything.
他夸夸其谈好像无所不知。
3. though 引导的让步状语从句可用部分倒装的形式(注意，倒装后位于句首的名词之前不用冠词)，但although一般不这样用。
Poor though I am, I can afford it.
我虽穷，但这东西还是买得起的。
Child though he was, he did quite well.
他虽是孩子，但干得很好。
4. 在although 和though之后均不能用but，但在强调时可用yet, still, nevertheless等词。
Though he seems happy, yet he is worried.
虽然他看起来很幸福，但他实际上很烦恼。
Although he lives alone, yet he is happy.
= He lives alone, but he is happy.
他虽然单独生活，但很愉快。
Although/Though I left early to avoid the rush hour, there was a lot of traffic in the streets.
I could not find a space to park my car, although/though the cinema had a big car park.
Although/Though I finally got a ticket, my seat was in the last row in the corner.
People kept coming in, although/though the film had already been on for 15 minutes.
I felt very hot, although/though I only had a T-shirt on.
Some people were talking loudly, although/though they were told to keep quiet.
Using so ... that
and such ... that
我们使用so... that或such... that采强调某人或某物的品质与特征，并展示结果。
在so和that之间我们使用一个形容词或一个副词。
我如此优秀，应该在好莱坞发展。
这位女演员去年工作如此辛苦以至于她没有一个休息日。
在such和that之间我们使用一个名词短语。
米莉是一个如此好的讲故事的人，她能写出令人兴奋的剧本。
它是一个如此令人兴奋的剧本，她没有停顿地读完了它。

so… that与such… that都表示“如此
……以致于”，用来引导结果状语从句。
so是副词，用来修饰形容词或副词，其结构是：so + adj. / adv. + that 从句。
such 是形容词，只能修饰名词或名词词组。它所修饰的名词既能是可数名词，也能是不可数名词。如：
It was such bad weather that we had to stay at home.
so…that 和such … that引导的结果状语从句
注意：
1. so 可修饰many, much, few, little等，而such 不能。如：
We have so little money that we can't
afford this house now.
2. 单数可数名词有修饰的形容词时，so 和such 均可用，但不定冠词的位置不同。如：
It is such an interesting film / so interesting
a film that I’d like to see it once again.
3. so… that 后面的从句为否定句，且从
句主语与主句主语相同时，该复合句可与以下结构转换：
① too + adj. + to do ；
② not + adj. + enough + to do 。
She is so short that she can't get the book
on the shelf.
= She is too short to get the book on the shelf.
= She isn't tall enough to get the book on the shelf.
Hepburn was so beautiful that many people were amazed by her beauty.
Hepburn was such a kind lady that she spent her last few years working with UNICEF to help poor children all over the world.
Hepburn acted so well that some people mistook her for a real princess.
Hepburn was such a great actress that she will always be remembered.
Using so that
我们使用so that来谈论做某事的目的。在so that后我们通常使用can，will，could或may。
赫本花费她最后几年的时间和联合国少儿基金会亲密地一起工作以便能帮助世界不同地区的贫困孩子。

so that引导目的状语从句时，表示“以便；为了”，从句中常使用情态动词can, may, will, could, might, would, should 等。

注意：当目的状语从句的主语与主句的
主语相同时，目的状语从句可用表示目的的不定式短语in order to替换。
