Reading Changed me
Good morning! My name is Lucy. It’s an honor to be here and to share with you the story of how reading has changed me.
Have you ever faced a time when things looked bleak and you had no hope at all Years ago, I found myself consumed by anxiety about my studies. Despite my efforts, achieving good grades seemed like an insurmountable challenge. Then one day, I read a play called Our Town, which told a story about the simplicity and beauty of everyday life in a small town called Grover's Corners. The play was like an old friend, speaking directly to my heart and bringing me long-lost peace and fulfillment. From that day on, I have embarked on a journey of reading--novels, plays, prose, and even poems. When I am happy, they share my happiness. When I am down, they are the rocks I lean on to become strong. When I am confused, they become the stars guiding me through the journey. I am really grateful for what reading has brought me.
I hope all of you can treasure what you have. Thank you!
