用来表示动作频率的副词叫频度副词,常用的频度副词有always(总是)、usually(通常)、often(经常)、sometimes(有时)、hardly ever(几乎不)、never(从不)等。频度副词按照频率发生的高低排列:
always>usually>often>sometimes>hardly ever>never
频度副词的常见用法:
(1)频度副词的位置
频度副词在句中常位于be动词、助动词和情态动词之后,实义动词之前。例如:
She is often late for school.
I can never be sure.
He always helps me.
(2)频度副词通常用于一般现在时的句子中,表示动作发生的频率。例如:
He usually goes to bed at ten o’clock.
(3)对频度副词提问,要用how often。 例如:
—How often do you go to the library
—Sometimes.
