The following is my introduction. My name is Chen. I was born at Taizhou, Zhejiang in March, 1983. I began my schooling at Huanshan Primary School and learned there for six years. After that I entered Taizhou Middle School in 1996 and graduated from the school in 2002. Then I was admitted to Zhejiang University, majoring in English.

(1)introduction为名词,意为“采用;引进;推行”。

·Mary was shy at her introduction to the company.在向公司介绍自己时,Mary很腼腆。
(2)introduce为动词,意为“介绍;引进”。

·The first lecture introduces students to the main topics of the course.第一堂课是让学生了解这门课程的主要内容。
常用搭配:introduce...to/into...意为“把……引入……”;introduce...to... 意为“把……介绍给……”;introduce oneself意为“作自我介绍”。

考点 ability的用法

My name is Alice. I am a primary school student. I am still a child, but I can do a lot of things. In study, I should work harder and harder. I should have a dream in my heart and try to achieve it in the future. In daily life, I can help my mother with the housework and accompany my elderly grandparents. Also, I can take part in some social activities. And my motto is “Be good. Do right.” I don’t doubt my ability to do anything well.

(1)ability为名词,意为“能力”。该单词后面通常与不定式to连用。
·He is understood to be a man of ability.他被认为是一个有能力的人。
·The public never had faith in his ability to take up the job.公众从来不相信他有能力胜任这一职位。
(2)able为形容词,意为“能;能够”。
·I didn’t feel able to disagree with him.我同意他的意见。
(3)常用搭配为be able to,意为“能够做某事”。

(4)常接不定式作定语的名词,如way、time、plan、right、chance、wish。

(2)mind作名词,还意为“头脑;智慧;心思;记忆力”。

(3)mind作动词,意为“介意”,后面接名词、代词、v.-ing或从句作宾语。

(4)mind的常用搭配:change one’s mind意为“改变主意”;make up one’s mind意为“下定决心”;keep...in mind意为“将……记在心中”;never mind意为“不要紧,没关系”。

Ten years ago, I together with my parents paid a visit to the Great Wall. It took us about two hours to get to the Great Wall. When it appeared in front of us, we couldn’t help thinking how wonderful it is! I wondered how the people in the past built it without modern machines. I was proud of it. This visit will always remain in my memory.
