(1)more than意为“不止;超过”。相当于over,其反义词为less than。
·There were more than 50 people on stage in one scene.有一场戏中舞台上的人有50多个。
·It never takes more than an hour.所用的时间从不会超过一个小时。
(2)more than+名词,意为“不仅仅是……”。
·Jason is more than a lecturer, and he is a writer too. Jason不仅仅是一个讲师,他也是个作家。
(3)more than+形容词,意为“很;非常”。
· I’m more than happy to take you there in my car. 我非常乐意开车带你去那里。
 no more than意为“不超过;仅仅”。
·You should have no more than two hours of screen time a day.你每天看屏幕的时间不应该超过两个小时。

(1)taste作连系动词,意为“尝起来;有……味道”,没有被动形式。
·This kind of cake tastes delicious.这种蛋糕尝起来很美味。
·The bread tastes like cheese.这面包尝起来像奶酪。
 与taste用法类似的感官类连系动词还有:sound(听起来)、feel(摸起来)、look(看起来)、smell(闻起来)。
·His voice sounded strange on the phone.他的声音在电话里听着挺怪的。
·The metal felt smooth and cold.这种金属摸起来光滑而冰冷。
(2)taste作动词,意为“尝,品;尝出”。

whether与if的辨析
(1)相同点:二者都可以引导宾语从句,表示“是否”,通常可以互换。

(2)不同点:
whether 可以与or not连用。
·I don’t know whether or not they will come to help.我不知道他们是否将来帮助我们。
