Teaching Procedures Step 1: Lead-in (5 minutes) Show some pictures related to Halloween, such as haunted houses, ghosts, spiders, and people dressed up in strange costumes. Ask students to look at the pictures and guess what festival these pictures are about. Then introduce the topic of Halloween. Step 2: Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes) 1. Present the new words and phrases on the PPT, such as "haunted", "ghost", "trick", "treat", "spider", "dress up", "dress up as", "play a trick on sb.", and "trick or treat". 2. Explain the meanings of the words and phrases with examples and pictures. Have students repeat the words and phrases after the teacher to practice pronunciation. Step 3: Activity 1a (5 minutes) Show the pictures and words in 1a. Ask students to match the pictures with the words and think about what Halloween is about. Have a few students share their ideas. Step 4: Pre-listening (5 minutes) Introduce the listening tasks in 1b. Present some questions, such as "Where is Halloween popular " and "When do people celebrate Halloween " to help students predict the content of the listening material. Step 5: Listening Practice 1b (8 minutes) Play the audio for the first time. Students listen and answer the questions in 1b. Check the answers together. Step 6: Listening Practice 1c (8 minutes) Play the audio again. This time, students fill in the blanks in 1c to have a deeper understanding of the listening material. Check the answers and explain any difficult points. Step 7: Group Discussion 1d (10 minutes) Divide students into groups. Ask them to discuss the following questions based on what they heard: 1. What do you think of Halloween 2. What activities do people do on Halloween Encourage students to express their opinions freely and use the target language. Walk around the classroom and offer help if needed. Step 8: Summary and Homework (9 minutes) 1.
