In my opinion, organic farming is preferable to chemical farming because of its benefits to the environment and to people, and because organic food is more nutritious and tasty.
To begin with, organic farming is beneficial to our environment while chemical farming harms the environment. For instance, chemcial pesticides damage the land by killing both harmful and helpful bacteria and insects. In contrast, the natural means adopted in organic farming contribute to rich soil.
In addition, the chemicals used in chemical farming is likely to end up in human bodies and make people ill. In fact, some pesticides like DDT have been prohibited in many places to avoid the potential damage.
Sample Essay
As for crops, organic food is generally more nutritious and tasty than food grown with man-made chemicals. Theoretically, an organically grown orange contains 10% more vitamin C than a conventionally grown one.
Therefore, I strongly suggest buying organic food. Of course, the price is a little higher, but the small price we pay extra will bring us huge rewards in the long term.
