教学重点: 1. Acquire the newly-taught vocabulary according to different methods of vocabulary learning. 2. Form vocabulary network of agricultural development and grain production. 3. Develop students’ English core literacy through a series of learning activities. 教学难点: 1. Describe a example of turning spare land into a farm in life by using vocabulary network.
教学过程
Step1 Lead in Lead in the topic by a picture of Yuan Longping and introduce about him. Ask the students: Q1: When we talk about Yuan Longping, what comes to your mind Step2 Learning About Language Activity 1 1.Look at a picture. What was Yuan Longping doing in the picture Yuan Longping was working the land. Guide the students to recall some words. 2.Ask the students: How did he work on the land (find out some verbs.) devote, tackle, boost, convince, attain, overcome, expand, estimate, generate 3.What kind of land did he want to change (find out some adjectives.) salty, conventional, characteristic 4.We can gather the same type of words together in the circle. Tell students the tip 1: lexical chunks. Activity 2 Students use the words in lexical chunks to replace the underlined words with the correct forms of the words. 2. The students finish the task in exercise 1 (on the textbook page52) independently. 3. Check the answers together. 4. Tell students the tip 2: Synonym. A word or expression has the same or nearly the same meaning. Activity 3 1.Ask students:What kind of person is Yuan Longping after we learned the text?
