教学过程
Analysis of teaching materials Unit3 is about fascinating parks and the video time introduces a campaign called “BioBlitz: Life in 24 Hours” in Rock Creak Park, Washington, D.C, which activates and organizes students, community residents, biological experts, university professors, photographers and park staffs to search for as many species as possible in the park in 24 hours. The content is interesting and meaningful, making people understand biodiversity, the environment we live in, broaden our horizon and the importance of living harmony with nature. To carry out such theme activity is to explore the theme meaning of park from different angles, so that students can have a deeper understanding of the theme meaning of this unit. Analysis of students After studying the previous parts, students already knew some parks, such as Yellowstone National Park(Opening page), Sarek National Park(Reading and thinking), The Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park(Learning about language), Xixi Park(Discover useful structures), Beijing Olympic Forest Park and theme parks(Using Language), so they have grasped the types, locations and features of different parks, and they learned to appreciate these parks with different senses: sight, touch, smell, taste and sound. What can you see Who are they What are they doing Read the title and predict what a BioBlitz is. Learn the meaning of the name: BioBlitzStep2 (25minutes)Before you watch Who are they in the pictures respectively What are they doing What creatures can you find Match the photos with the phrases in the box. Work in groups. Use the phrases in the box to describe what is going on in the photos. Predict what a BioBlitz is according to the title and six pictures. Watch the video and check your predictions. While You Watch Go through the statements before watching again. Watch the video and decide if the following statements are true(T) or false(F). Fill in the table according to before and while you watch. Use the phrases in the box to describe what is going on in the photos and then discuss what students think a BioBlitz is. Step3 (10minutes)After you watch How do you feel about BioBlitz Discuss these questions in groups: 1. This Bioblitz was conducted in the middle of a large city. Do you think there is as much biodiversity in your city or town Why or why not 2.
