Teaching Procedure: Activity 1 Talk about the theme Which theme park would you like to visit？ What are the themes of these parks？ Think about what kind of theme park you want to create, and you can choose one of the ideas, or one of your own. Activity 2 Talk about the activities What activities can you experience in a theme park Activity 3 Discuss in groups What will your park offer visitors Come up with at least three things for each category below and give them interesting names. Activity 4 Work in groups Nowadays, our school is going to hold a Theme Park Design competition, and is now collecting posters of theme parks. You are asked to make a poster of your ideal theme park and an introduction to it. Assign group members to prepare the following: a short introduction to the park. a large and colorful map of the park showing where everything is located. small pictures of the things discussed. Put your introduction, map and pictures together to make a poster. Use the checklist to help you design and assess the poster. Is the introduction clear Is the poster attractive enough Does the map in the poster showing everything clear Do designers include colorful pictures in the poster Do designers have spelling or grammar mistakes Activity 5 Presentation Ask some groups to present and introduce their posters in the class. Work in groups

Our theme park will be the Chang'e Lunar Wonderland, where past dreams become future reality. The theme park will be based on the story of Chang’e and Houyi, and how Chang'e floated to the moon and lives there still. For rides and attractions, we will have the Moon Palace, where Chang'e lives, an interactive activity where people pretend they are Houyi and try to shoot out the suns, and a roller coaster. We will have a theatre where people can watch plays and concerts on the theme of Chang'e, and we will also have a light show, and a music show featuring ancient Chinese instruments. Finally, for food we will have a restaurant featuring the best of traditional Chinese cuisine, a snack stand where people can buy mooncakes, and a space bar serving drinks that are out of this world. All in all, if you are interested in the folk tale of Chang'e, come to the Chang’e Lunar Wonderland!
