一.教学主题
本单元的中心话题是 Describe the weather 。这节课是一节听说新授课。运用How ’ s the weather ?或 What’s the weather like ?及描述天气的词来谈论不同城市的天气状况;由于讨论天气这一话题与我们的日常生活相关,所以有助于提高学生的学习兴趣,提高学生的英语口语能力,此外,对于他们理解现在进行时也是一个极大的帮助。
二.教学内容分析
本单元增设了一个日常生活中重要的情景Talking about the weather 。通过本单元的学习,使学生掌握描述天气的基本词汇及对天气的提问,学会准确地表达自己对某种天气的喜好并说明原因,能够识别一些基本的天气符号并且学会做天气预报,还要学会叙述在不同的天气背景下做什么。 Section A 主要是听读说和基础语言运用,为目标句型提供分步示例和指导性练习。 Section B 知识拓展,新旧知识的运用,循序渐进的练习所学的语言,完成各种任务,使学生能够对已经学过的目标句型运用自如。
三.教学对象及特点
刚刚步入初中的学生,其英语基础知识和听说能力普遍较差。大部分学生虽说在小学阶段学过英语,但其应用能力十分薄弱,所以一定要做好中小学的衔接工作。同时,七年级学生表现欲强,好奇心强,对英语学习兴趣很高,尤其是对新话题,他们更乐意去学习,更乐于接受“玩中学,学中玩”;本班的学生有比较明确的学习目的,能够在小组活动中互相帮助,积极与他人合作,敢于用英语进行表达。本课时谈论天气,话题内容贴近学生、贴近生活,学生们较为熟悉。加之,之前通过 Unit6的学习,已经对现在进行时有了初步的了解,所以本节课对他们来说难度不高,教师应该尽量创设情景,拓展思路,必要时帮助学生用英语进行准确表达。
四.教学目标
1.知识目标
词汇:学习天气状况的形容词 rainy , windy , cloudy , sunny , snowy .
句型:
(1) How ' s the weather It’s sunny / windy / cloudy / raining / snowing
(2) what are you doing I am doing ....
2.能力目标
(1)学会用英语询问和描述天气情况。
(2)询问他人在做什么。
3.情感目标
希望学生平时注意观察天气及周围环境的变化,善于用英语描述周围的事物,培养学生学习英语的兴趣;学生学会关爱他人、关心环境;并树立积极的人生观,不管追求什么目标,都应风雨无阻。无论晴雨,我们都要保持快乐!
重点:
1.掌握本课有关天气的所有新单词。
2.能够运用所学句型:

难点:让学生使用本节课学到的词汇和语言知识,描述并谈论天气。
Teaching Procedures
Step I. Lead in
Greeting
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Ss: Good morning, Ms.Cui.
T: It’s time for class,Today we’ll learn Unit9 Section A 1a-2d.
First Please imagine “If you have lots of money, what do you want to do ”
Ss: Say something freely.
T: I want to be a great traveler, I will travel around the world.[设计意图] 口头表达自己观点,引导学生进入闯关学习,课件导入有显著特征的世界著名城市的建筑物图片语境,引起学生的兴趣和注意,为进入学习表示天气的新的内容做铺垫。
Step II Round1(挑战第一关)
Do you know these city (城市) names
Use pictures to present the new words of these city names in order to teach the new words. and teaches the Ss read and say the words, Tiantan Beijing (China),Oriental Pearl Tower Shanghai (China) ,Church and Tower Boston (the US) ,Canada's National Tower Toronto ( Canada ),St. Vasily's Cathedral Moscow ( Russia )
Round 2(挑战第二关)
Enjoy a video about
“How’s the weather ”with students.
[设计意图] 通过观看视频,引导学生感知表示天气的单词及问句, 进入学习表示天气的新的内容。
1.Use pictures to present the new words of weather. Show the pictures /icons of different weather to teach the new words and drills.”
How’s the weather It’s sunny(sun), / cloudy(cloud)/ raining/rainy (rain)/ snowing snowy(snow) / windy(wind).
2.The teacher shows the pictures again and gets the students to ask and answer these questions in turn:
A: How’s the weather in picture 1
B: It’s sunny. How’s the weather in picture 2
A: It’s cloudy.
3.Get the class to read the word list in 1a and match the words with the pictures in 1a by themselves. Then ask them to report the weather in each picture to check their work.
[设计意图] 运用图片学习表示天气的名词和形容词,并通过词形的比较对单词进行记忆,精讲多练。运用口语学习询问天气的疑问句。

Listening (1b)
1b Listen and write these city names in the boxes above.

1. Play the tape for the students to make notes. Ask them to listen and fill in the chart.
2.Ask the students to write the names of cities in the picture of 1a.

[设计意图]
听前向学生介绍内容,创设语境,让学生再次熟悉学过的城市名称, 通过表格的形式,让学生边听边记,使注意力更加集中,听得更细,听后简单提问,一方面检查听的情况,另一方面使听力训练和口语练习的目的同时达到。

1.After listening, get the class to read the conversation in the picture aloud. Then ask and answer about the weather in the picture.

[设计意图]复习上单元所学习的现在进行时的知识,以打电话的形式谈论两个城市的天气情况的句型为下文听力做铺垫。
