Unit 9 What does he look like
询问及描述某人的外貌特征
look like “看起来像……”
eg：He looks like his father. 他看起来像他的父亲。
问：What do/does + 主语 + look like “……看上去什么样？”/ “……长什么样？”
答：主语 + be + 描述人物外貌特征的形容词。
主语 + have/has + 名词（名词前可有多个形容词修饰，表示“某人长着或留着发”时，则只能用has/have）。
主语 + be of +名词 （指描述某人的体形、身材等）
eg：1)What does your friend look like 你朋友长什么样？
He is short and thin. He has short, black hair.他又矮又瘦，留着短直发。
2)What do they look like 他们长什么样？
They’re of medium height. 他们中等身高。
3)What does he look like 他长什么样？
He is of medium build, and he has a big nose.他中等身材，大鼻子。

【剖析】 现在进行时表将来表示按计划、安排将要发生的动作，常跟tomorrow，soon等表示将来的时间状语。
能用这种结构表示将来的动词往往是表示位置移动的动词，
如go， come， leave， arrive， start， begin， move， fly等

2)wear, put on, have on ,dress
a.wear是“穿着”“戴着”的意思，强 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )调状态。常用一般现在时表示经常状态，用进行时态表示暂时状态。wear还可用来表示佩戴手表、首饰、徽章、花儿的“佩”或“戴”以及留头发，胡须的“留”。
eg: He wears a black jacket today.今天他穿着一件黑色的夹克.。
b.put on是“穿上”“戴上”，强调动作，是终止性动词短语，不能跟表示一段时间的状语连用。
eg: Put on the gloves .It's cold outside.戴上手套外面很凉。
c.have on意为“穿着”“戴着”，与 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )wear同义，指穿的状态，其后可以接表示衣服、帽子、鞋子的名词。have on不用于进行时态。have sth on =wear sth
eg： Have your hat on! 戴上你的帽子！have sth on 一般是强调动作。
She wears a hat. 她戴着一顶帽子。wear一般强调状态。
d. dress作“穿着…的衣服”解；给某人穿衣服不用写衣服。
eg：She is dressed in red.她穿着红衣服。
4. medium height/build 中等高度／身体
【剖析】 build作名词意为体格，体型。eg：a man of strong build 一个体格健壮的人
有两种表达方法： He is of medium build=He has a medium build.
【拓展】build 作动词意为建造，建设，建立
eg：We are building a house. 我们正在建造一个房子。
5. He has long straight brown hair . 他有棕色的长直发。
【剖析】几个形容词修饰一个名词时的顺序：大小长短→形状→颜色。
形容词的顺序一般与被修饰形容词关系密切的形 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )容词靠近名词,如果几个形容词的重要性差不多, 音节少的形容词在前, 音节多的方在后, 在不能确定时, 可参照下表：
1) 限定词+数量词(序数词在前, 基数词在后)+性状形容词+大小、长短、高低等形体+名词
eg: those + three + beautiful + large + square
2)新旧+颜色+国籍+材料+名词
eg: old + brown +Chinese+ wood + table
6. a little bit, a little, a bit
1) 修饰形容词或副词时，三者可通用，但a little bit比后两者所表示的程度稍弱一点。
Today is a little bit / a little / a bit cold. 今天有点冷。
2）修饰不可数名词时，a little直接跟不可数名词，a bit需加of再跟不可数名词。
There is a little / a bit of water in the glass. 杯子里有点水。
3）a little 和a bit在否定句中意思恰恰相反。
not a little相当于very “很，非常”，not a bit相当于not….at all“一点也不”。
eg: He is not a little hungry. = He is very hungry. 他很饿。
He is not a bit hungry. = He isn’t hungry at all. 他一点也不饿。
7. She never stops talking. 她总是讲个不停。
【剖析】 stop to do sth. “停下来去做某事”。指停止原来做的事情，去做另一件事情。
stop doing sth. “停止做某事”，指停止正在做的事情，即不做某事了。
eg：He stops to do his homework. 他停下来开始做家庭作业。
He stops doing his homework. 他停止做家庭作业。
【拓展】与remember和forget的用法类似
remember/forget doing sth. 记得/忘记做过某事 （事情已做）
remember/forget to do sth. 记得/忘记要去做某事 （事情还没做）
8. no more, not….any more., no longer, not….any longer
1) no more = not…any more表示数量和程度的“不再（增加）”，常修饰终止性动词。
eg：We won’t go there any more.我们不再去那里了。

2) no longer = not…any longer表示时间上“不再（延长）”，常修饰延续性动词。
