Our school’s Culture and Arts Festival was held in the stadium recently, which was decorated
with colorful flags and flowers, creating a joyful atmosphere.
The festival lasted five hours, kicking off / starting with a speech delivered by the
headmaster. The talented students then took turns to give impressive performances, ranging from
singing, dancing to martial arts. Among them, the warmest applause went to the Beijing opera, a
joint performance by 5 students and their teachers.
The festival is truly an unforgettable feast (盛宴) of sights and sounds. Not only does it offer
us students a chance to relax, but it increases our fondness for culture and arts.
大作文
That night, Ayaka decided to talk about her ideas with her parents. She took a deep breath,
and then expressed her desire to choose art and design as her university major. After she finished,
her mother said, “We just want you to be happy, Ayaka. If you really love art and design, we
support your choice wholeheartedly.” With the weight of her secret lifted, Ayaka felt surprised
and relieved (释然的 ). The following days were filled with discussions about universities
offering art and design programs, as well as preparations for the application.
With the support of her parents and the friendship of Kei, Ayaka’s determination (决心) grew
stronger. In addition to working hard at school, she also asked for advice from professionals, and
joined an art club to further develop her skills. As the day for the application came, Ayaka felt
new-found confidence and belief in her abilities. She made a satisfying choice and everyone was
happy for her. She knew that she would take on a new journey filled with creativity and was ready
to accept the challenges and opportunities that awaited her ahead.

W: I have a question for all of us. Is all winning success Winning is really, really fun. But I
am here to share my idea: Winning does not always equal success. All around the world, we have
created the win-at-all-costs culture. We have become so focused on that end result instead of the
process, and particularly when the end result is a win. Real success is developing champions in
life for our world, win or lose. We may be able to plan our way to a win, but we can’t plan our
way to success. Back to 1990, when I was first made the head coach of the UCLA Women’s
Gymnastics Team. I acted like a head coach whose only thought was to figure out how to win. So
I became tough talking and mean. Our team asked me for a team meeting for over two hours. They
gave me examples of how my arrogance was hurtful. Then I chose to change. It is so much easier
to give orders than to figure out how to motivate someone to be better. We all know this
motivation takes a really long time to take root. The key to promote motivation is to develop trust
through patience and honesty. We are all coaches in some ways. We all have the responsibility to
develop champions in life for our world. This is what real success looks like, and that is what we
call a win-win.
