①古时候,老北京城里发生了一场奇怪的瘟疫,几乎家家都有人染上了重病,一旦病了就无药可医,郎中们一个个束手无策。一时间京城的老百姓死难无数,到处是一片凄惨的景象。嫦娥在月宫里看到此情景,心里十分难过,就派月宫中捣药的玉兔下界去为百姓们治病。得了嫦娥的令旗,玉兔带着捣好的药材来到了民间。
兔爷的传说
②授命下凡解救众生的玉兔,为了融入凡间,更好地实施救治,变成了人形再去送药。
玉兔挨家挨户地走,很快治好了很多人。为了尽早结束老百姓的苦难,地上的老虎、大象、梅花鹿、天上的麒麟等各种动物们都来帮助玉兔,日夜载着玉兔东奔西走,玉兔在大伙的齐心帮助下很快消除了京城内外的瘟疫,回月宫去了。
③百姓们都知道是玉兔帮助了他们,为了感激玉兔的恩德,就请能工巧匠用泥塑彩绘做成玉兔的样子供奉在堂前,尊称为:“兔儿爷”,
逢年过节或有喜事的日子会摆上新鲜的果蔬五谷供奉祭拜,在老百姓心里兔儿爷会保佑全家平安吉祥,是幸福平安的守护之神。

1. present作名词,可以表示“礼物”,为可数名词,相当于 “gift”。
e.g. birthday presents 生日礼物

2. present作动词,可以表示“当前的”。

1. 圣诞老人的传说
