Step 1: Start out
Task1:
Discuss in group: How did you feel on the first day at senior high
(意图:激发学生情感共鸣,复习学习描述情感的词汇。)
Task2:
According to the pictures, try to guess the words used to describe feelings.
(意图:通过头脑风暴,多思维,多感官激发学生的词汇学习。)
Step 2: Pre-reading
Task1:
Lead the students to analyse the genre of the passage and master the key points of a narrative story.
(意图:引导学生从记叙文的角度整体把握语篇。)
Task2:
Look at the title of the passage and the pictures, and then guess what the author will write.
(意图:培养学生读图的能力。)
Step 3: While-reading:
Task1:
Read the passage quickly and answer the following question:
What did the author write in his dairy about his first day at senior high?
(意图:引导学生利用Skimming阅读技巧,快速把握段落大意。)
Task2:
Lead the students to get the structure of the passage according to the time order.
(意图:引导学生整体把握文章结构。)
Task3:
Read the passage carefully part by part. In each part, lead the students to focus on the following key points:

How did he feel
(意图:首先引导学生利用Scanning, 提升快速阅读文章,寻读具体信息的能力。其次,在阅读中,再次体会记叙文的要点描述。)

Step 4: Post- reading
Task1:
Try to describe the pictures to retell the passage. Pay attention to the time points when the things happened and Meng Hao’s feelings.

Task2:
Group work:What’s your understanding of the saying “Well begun, half done” Think about what you can learn from this saying and what you should do with your new school life.

Step5:
Write a passage to introduce an impressive experience of your first week at senior high, for example, an enjoyable class, after-school activities etc.
