过去进行时与一般过去时的区别
过去进行时着重描述当时正在持续进行的动作 ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ),它的特点是:暂时,持续和未完成,强调过程;一般过去时表示发生过的动作或存在的状态,即表示动作发生过,而且已经结束了,强调结果。

rise是不及物动词,意为:(价格、水位等)上涨;(月亮、太阳等)上升。
e.g. It is too hot. The temperature rises by 6℃ today.

when和while都可表示“当……的时候”,引导时间状语从句。你知道两者在过去进行时中的用法有什么不同吗?
