A lovely surprise has magical power. That's probably why many people, especially the young, love blind boxes,or mystery boxes. Now a young man in Anhui Province has put a fresh thing into the magic box——healthy vegetables.
A common day for Zheng Tao,34,is spent with vegetables. Each of his "mystery veg boxes " has seven to eight kinds of seasonal vegetables. Zheng offers two types of veg boxes:2 kilos (36.8 yuan) and 4 kilos (72.8 yuan). All vegetables are planted in the open air without chemicals." The number of each kind of vegetables is just enough for one or two meals to avoid waste,"said Zheng, who left his job in the city to become a new farmer in his hometown.
The idea of the mystery veg box came by accident. In July 2021,Zheng's parents produced more vegetables than the family needed. Then he shared some pictures of the vegetables online and asked if anyone wanted them. After a couple of minutes, he got four to five orders. Two weeks later,Zheng started his veg box business.
His vegetables got very popular. At the peak (高峰期),Zheng sold more than 200 blind boxes daily. That was more than 600 kg of vegetables. To offer vegetables to more customers, the new farmer rented some land in July 2022 and began cooperating(合作) with local villagers.

China's space station now has the ability to produce more than 90 percent of its drinking water through recycling, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).It means that less than 10 percent is provided from the ground.
The recycling is achieved by the environmental control and life support system in the space station. For the purpose of creating an Earth-like living environment in space, the system controls the air pressure, oxygen content(氧气含量),wind speed, and temperature inside the space station. It also collects the sweat(汗液)of astronauts and changes it into drinking water.
The system is made up of six subsystems, which have different uses. One of the subsystems is newly set up and tested by the Shenzhou-14 group with help from the ground. The new subsystem can help recycle one more kilogram of water every day. It raises the proportion(比例)of drinking water produced by recycling from 80 percent to more than 90 percent.
As a necessary key technology for China's space task, the environmental control and life support system has protected the safety of astronauts in the space station and helped create a suitable living environment in the station.
At present, Chinese scientists are working on the new recycling technologies to reuse the space station materials as much as possible in the future, said the CMSA.

The Chinese pingfeng (folding screen) is an ancient invention and traditional Chinese furniture (家具). Its earliest common use dates from the Han Dynasty. The term pingfeng means protection from wind, showing its purpose at the very beginning.
As time passes, it has been made into different sizes with colourful paintings. On screens usually appears a dragon. It’s a symbol of light, growth and life-giving water. It also stands for nobility and power. The peacock, a beautiful bird, can be seen on screens, too. It’s a symbol of everlasting life. Beautiful flowers, which mean wealth and good luck, are also chosen as a popular design of the pingfeng. All the designs carry people’s beautiful wishes.
Behind the pingfeng lies an interesting story. In the past the unmarried daughter of a rich family was not supposed to see or be seen by men except her father, brothers or very close male cousins. When an admirer paid a visit however, she might take a secret look at him from a screen behind which she would be completely hidden. Her father would discuss poems with the young man and ask him to create one. If the daughter and her father were satisfied with the young man’s poem and his looks, she might agree to take him as a husband.
Today the pingfeng is back in fashion for its beauty and its practical (实际的) use as furniture. Acting as a moving wall or divider, it can be the perfect match (相配) for modern sofas and walls, which adds style to them.
The pingfeng is more than beautiful furniture.
