" Please calm down and sit, " said Mr. Johnson,"I'm glad everyone's here for the final reading test of the year." When everyone cried, Mr. Johnson laughed, saying it was just a joke. Then he reminded us that we still had a job to do." You need to clean out your desks and put all your things into your backpacks." he added gently.
As we began our task, Mr. Johnson turned on the CD player. The lively music made the room feel like a party. Some of us started singing along with the music, others were dancing around their desks while they were cleaning them out. Even Mr. Johnson showed us a few dance steps, making everyone laugh heartily. Just as we were about to rush out, our headmaster, Mrs. Miller, appeared at the door." Mr. Johnson!" she cried out. A moment of si lence fell over the room as we thought," Mr. Johnson might be in trouble." However, to our surprise, Mrs. Miller couldn't help but laugh at the sight and left us to enjoy our break.

But we should remember: being fashionable isn't everything. It's more important to be healthy.
Some people believe that they need to be a certain size to look good. So, they start extreme diets that are not good for their health. They might not eat meals or eat too little, which can make them feel sick. Is it a healthy way to live
Also, many girls wear shoes with very high heels. They might think high heels make them look taller. But these shoes can actually hurt their feet and make it hard to walk comfortably, and people are more likely to fall down. Some even wear tight(紧的) clothes that influence blood circulation(循环) making it hard to breathe. Should we put fashion over comfort and physical health
Besides, some boys and girls spend a lot of time and money changing their hair color. The material they use is usually harmful to their health. To make their hair straight or curly, they also use tools that are hot enough to burn their hair. But using these tools too often or at very high temperatures can make the hair dry or even burnt. Is it really worth it to risk our health, spending so much time and money
So let's rethink what's really important. Is it fashion or is it our well- being Clothes or hairstyles don't tell us anything about a person's character. Instead of spending a lot of time choosing clothes, we could use that time to do fun things with friends. And instead of following extreme diets, let's eat properly and exercise regularly. Remember, your worth is not decided by your appearance, but by who you are as a person.
8.Why do some people go on extreme diets according to the passage
A.Because the diets are healthy.
B.Because they just want to look good.
C.Because they want to save time.
D.Because they want to save money.
9.What is the writer's purpose of using a question in each paragraph

B.To tell how to spend time and money.
C.To describe the latest fashion.
D.To lead readers to think about the topic.
10.What does the underlined word" well- being" in Paragraph 5 mean
A.Growth. B.Health. C.Warmth. D.Truth.

A. B.
C. D.

Should We Keep Animals In Zoos
Zoos are popular places in communities around the world. They're places where people can learn about wild animals by seeing them up close. Some people, though, believe zoos aren't good for animals. They think wild animals should only live in the wild.
 16.
Wild animals have been kept in cages for thousands years. Over time, people began speaking out about the practice of keeping animals in zoos. The rise of animal rights movement and groups has led many to question whether or not zoos are right.
 17.
Zoos provide care for animals that they wouldn't receive in the wild. Animals are fed a healthy diet in zoos. Also, zoos have veterinarians (who provide medical care for wounded or sick animals that would often be left to die in the wild. In some cases, zoos help animals to live longer.
 18.
Though many animals live longer in zoos, some mammals live longer in the wild. Elephants live near twice as long in the wild as they do in zoos. Scientists believe the causes for this include elephants in zoos becoming stressed and depressed when they are forced to live in small spaces.
 19.
It may seem like a good thing that zoos set animals back into the wild, but there are often problems with this practice. Zoo animals don't learn hunting skills since they are fed by zookeepers. They also have no idea to stay away from predators(捕食者), cars or hunters in the wild. .
 20.
How much do zoos actually teach people about animals A 2014 study showed that only 1, 000out of 3, 000 children who visited a zoo learned something new. Groups such as PETA believe the biggest thing children learned at zoos is that it's fine to keep animals in cages instead of in the wild.

Since his story was known last year可知时态是现在完成时,结构是have/has+动词的过去分词,主语his spirt是不可数名词,助动词用has,encourage用过去分词encouraged,故答案为has encouraged。

I'm just an ordinary student, but these health problems are starting to worry me. What can I do

Have you ever thought about what's more important, looking fashionable or feeling comfortable You might have noticed many people choosing style over com fort and some even go to extremes to follow fashion.
A.To ask for help from readers.
B.To tell how to spend time and money.
C.To describe the latest fashion.
D.To lead readers to think about the topic.
10.What does the underlined word" well- being" in Paragraph 5 mean
A.Growth. B.Health. C.Warmth. D.Truth.
11.Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage
A. B.

A. Unable to Go Back B. Caring for Animals C. Animals in the World D. Spiritual Problems E. Rise of Animal Rights F. The Wrong Lesson
