【语法精讲】
1.形容词比较级(Ⅱ)
多音节和部分双音节形容词变为比较级时,要在词前加more。如:interesting—more interesting; careful—more careful; important—more important
2.副词比较级
(1)副词的用法:
副词主要用来修饰动词、形容词、副词或其他结构。副词修饰动词时,通常放在行为动词(实义动词)之后。
如:He often gets up early.他通常起床早。
(2)副词的构成:
①直接在形容词后加-ly。如:careful-carefully
②以“辅音字母+-y结尾”的形容词,变-y为i再加-ly。如:happy-happily; heavy-heavily
注意:
①一些形容词和副词同形:late, early, hard
②以-ly结尾,但不是副词,是形容词:friendly友好的;lovely可爱的;lively活泼的
有些词既是形容词又是副词,但在加了-ly之后,又变成了另外的副词。如:most-mostly; close-closely
(3)副词比较级的变化规则:
单音节词和少数双音节词 一般在词尾加er
以字母e结尾的副词直接加r
以重读闭音节结尾,且末尾只有一个辅音字母,双写该辅音字母,再加er
以“辅音字母+y”结尾的副词,先把y变成i,再加er
多音节词和部分双音节词 在该副词前加more
(4)常见形容词、副词不规则变化:
many/much—more;good/well—better
bad/badly/ill—worse;little—less
far—farther/further
3.形容词和副词比较级的更多用法
(1)比较级前加the。表示“两者中较……的一个”,如:
I want the bigger one of the two shirts.
两件衬衫中,我想要大一点的那件。
(2)the+比较级...,the+比较级...“越……就越……”如:
The more you eat, the fatter you are.
你吃越多就会越胖。
(3)比较级+比较级表示“越来越……”
His English is better and better this term.
这学期他的英语越来越好。
