【语法精讲】
1.形容词和副词最高级的构成
(1)单音节和少数双音节词
①一般在词尾加-est
例:tall—tallest, long—longest
②以字母e结尾的词直接加-st
例:close—closest, nice—nicest
③以重读闭音节结尾的词,如末尾只有一个辅音字母,应先双写该字母,再加-est
例:big—biggest, hot—hottest
④以“辅音字母+y”结尾的词,先把y变成i,再加-est
例:busy—busiest, easy—easiest
(2)多音节词和部分双音节词一般在单词前加most
例:careful—most careful,
carefully—most carefully
(3)不规则变化
good/well—best, bad/ill/badly—worst,
many/much—most, little—least,
far—farthest/furthest
2.形容词和副词的最高级的用法
(1)表达三个或三个以上事物的比较,用最高级,后面常用in/of/among来表示比较的范围。
如:Jack is the tallest in our class.
杰克是我们班个子最高的。
(2)用“one of + the+形容词的最高级+可数名词复数”表达“最……之一”。
如:Going by car is one of the fastest ways to work.开车是去上班的最快方式之一。
(3)形容词最高级前常有定冠词the修饰;副词的最高级前可加the,也可不加the。但是形容词最高级前如有物主代词、指示代词、名词所有格等修饰时,不加the。
如:Last Sunday is his happiest day.
上周日是他最开心的一天。
