When you are on a bicycle, you have the advantage of being able to stop whenever you want to see an interesting animal or bird that you have never seen before. It is a quieter way of transportation as well,so you might even be able to take a picture. When you are on the beach, you can breathe that clean air and view the beauty of the water and sand.It is a totally different experience from either simply sunbathing or passing it in a car.
There are many choices of hiring a bicycle to experience the Gold Coast attractions. There are stores that will fit a bike perfectly to your size. These bikes for both adults and children are in many styles and colours to please any taste. If you have ever wanted to try a tandem bike (双人自行车),now is your chance, because they have those too.

The planet’s climate has been changing over thousands of years. The average global temperature today is about 15℃.Scientists are worried that the planet is warming faster than ever before. The 20 warmest years on record have been in the past 22 years, according to the World Meteorological Organisation(WMO).If this situation continues, temperatures may rise by 3℃-5℃ by 2100.
Scientists say we should try and stop this and not allow the average global temperature to rise by more than 1.5℃.Even a 2℃ rise will be bad for us all. Now,half a degree doesn’t sound like much, but it could make a big difference to the planet.A 2℃ rise will mean that all the coral reefs(珊瑚礁) will disappear, but a 1.5℃ rise means that there will still be some.Also,18 percent of the insects on Earth will disappear if the temperature goes up by 2℃,compared to 6 percent disappearing at a 1.5℃ rise.Thirty-seven percent of people will be affected by dangerous heatwaves at a 2℃ rise. That’s twice the number compared to at a 1.5℃ rise.
So,what can we do Scientists say that carbon(碳) will have to be taken out of the air by machines and stored underground and that these devices already exist. They also say that billions of trees will have to be planted.People should buy less meat.Of all the foods we eat, beef has the biggest effect on climate change because it produces a high amount of greenhouse gases to raise cows. Also, someone suggested not buying new clothes too often, because the fashion industry is a major source of the greenhouse gases that are overheating the planet. And,of course, use transport that doesn’t burn fossil fuels(化石燃料),like electric cars. It’s also better to walk or ride a bike.
5.Why did the author mention the warmest records
A.To explain the role which the WMO plays.
B.To give an example of global warming.
C.To show the latest information taken from the WMO.
D.To express his worries about climate change.
6.What if the average global temperature rises by 2℃

Everything you do to protect the planet helps all living things, including humpbacks(座头鲸) and other species of whales (鲸鱼) that live in oceans worldwide. And yes—just one kid, like you,can make a difference. 1 .
Plant a tree.
2 .They produce oxygen (氧气) and absorb carbon dioxide(二氧化碳),a gas that animals, including humans, produce naturally as they breathe. But because carbon dioxide also comes from cars and factories, there is too much of it in the atmosphere, which is contributing to global warming. If everyone planted one tree, those trees would remove a large amount of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Say,“No bag,thank you.”
Whether you’re buying toys, snacks,or clothes, tell the checkout person you don’t need a bag. 3 ,you’ll help reduce the 100 million plastic bags that each year block sewers(下水道),and get swallowed by whales, sea turtles, and other wildlife.
 4 .
Every time you leave a room for more than a minute, turn off the lights you’re using. In this way,you save energy and keep greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere.
Don’t litter.
Rubbish thrown away carelessly outside often washes into storm drains(排水沟),which empty into rivers and eventually flow to the oceans. 5 ,including whales.
Try the family challenge!
Many streams and rivers are polluted and littered with rubbish. You and your family can help preserve the waterways by joining others in your community to pick up rubbish.
A.Trees help clean the air we breathe
B.Turn off the lights
C.Avoid driving cars

根据第二段中的“It is a pity to drive in a car and you’ll miss a great part of it.”
根据最后一段中的“This is a wonderful chance for anyone who likes to cycle and it is also a cheap way to travel with your family.”可知,租自行车旅行是一种很省钱的方式,排除B项;根据第三段中的“When you are on a bicycle, you have the advantage of being able to stop whenever you want to see an interesting animal or bird that you have never seen before.”可知,租自行车旅行,你可以更清楚地看到动物,排除C项;根据第三段中的“It is a quieter way of transportation as well,so you might even be able to take a picture.” 故选A项。
根据最后一段中的“A bicycle hire on the Gold Coast is something that everyone should try at least once.”
根据第四段前两句“There are many choices of hiring a bicycle to experience the Gold Coast attractions. There are stores that will fit a bike perfectly to your size.”
根据第二段中的“A 2℃ rise will mean that all the coral reefs will disappear, but a 1.5℃ rise means that there will still be some.” 故选A项。
根据最后一段中的“People should buy less meat.Of all the foods we eat, beef has the biggest effect on climate change because it produces a high amount of greenhouse gases to raise cows.”
故选A项。
