Step 1 Revision Review the main phrases and sentences. Step 2 Talking Ask some Ss to describe how to make a Chinese clay piece. Like this: First, the pieces are carefully shaped by hand from a very special kind of clay and then allowed to air-dry. Second, after drying, they are fired at a very high heat. At last, they are polished and painted. Step 3 Discussion Talk about some special things you’re your city is famous for. e.g.: A: What’s your city famous for B: Our city is famous for making lanterns. A: Really! What are they made of B: They’re made of bamboo, silk or paper. A: What they can do B:They were first used for lighting in the old days. Today, they are used at festivals and other celebrations.
