“The real journey of discovery is not in exploring(勘探)new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” I have forgotten where I read the words, 211 I didn’t catch its real meaning until a hot summer afternoon.
Several days 212 that afternoon, I happened to learn about a museum called McNay in a magazine. It used to be the home of a(n) 213 named Marian McNay. Although there were no signs outside on the building, we 216 found it. The museum was free. But just as we entered, the people in the hall 217 talking in a sudden and all watched at us.
“May I help you ” a well-dressed young lady asked politely. “Oh, thank you. We’re fine.”
Sally had gone upstairs. The people in the hall seemed 218 keeping their eyes on me all the time. “What was their problem ” I wondered.
While I lost myself in the beauty of those attractive works of art, the same 219 came into my ears, but this time it seemed a little bit unpleasant, “Where do you think you are ” “The MeNay Art Museum! What’s up ” “Sorry, young lady, the McNay Museum is not at No.101 but No.110” Seeing my confused(困惑的)looking, she continued, “Well, it’s my 220 No.101, New Braunfels Street.” I was shocked by what I heard. I embarrassedly(尴尬地)went to the stair and 221 out, “Sally! Come down, quickly!”
“There’re some really good works there.” She stepped down looking confused. I 222 her towards the front door, saying, “We are so sorry, but you have a really wonderful house.” “That’s OK. But didn’t you find out you had mistaken my bouse for the MeNay Museum you would have gone to ” “Oh, well, haven’t you realized how 223 your home is The fine paintings, artistic sculptures are all around, and even the elegant furniture seems like pieces works of art.”
The lady said 224 looking around her house quite carefully as if it had been the first time she visited the house which she had been living for over twenty years.
Finally, looking into my eyes, she said, “Thank you so much. Your visiting has made me realize that we should not care too much about what we haven’t got, but pay much 225 to what we have had.”
