Step1. Lead-in
T:Discuss with partners about traveling and the way to travel.
And show pictures to lead the new lesson. Jenny and Danny will come to Beijing of China. They will go to the beautiful city-Xi’an.
Step2. Learn new words
First, read the new words with partners, then show themselves. Other students listen and correct if there are some mistakes.
Brainstorm: Making up a short story or a dialogue with the new words. Believe the students, they can do it well.
Step3. Listen and answer
How far is it from Beijing to Xi'an?
How long is the Silk Road
Step4. Reading
1) Fast reading(Two minutes to find the answers. )

Step5. Plan for the trip
Read plan for the trip first, and then make a dialogue with partner to practice “How far is it from … to … ?”
谈论距离的句型
(1)询问距离常用疑问词How far;
(2)描述两地间的距离的常用句型有:①It’s+数词+距离单位+from A to B. ② It’s+数词+时间单位的所有格(hours’/minutes’) +表交通方式的名词(walk/ride/drive)+ from A to B.
