given adj.

Language points

Given her interest in children(=Given that she is interested in children), I am sure teaching is the right career for her.

▲3.cuju (kick ball)
Language points

“A Game for the World”
What makes football
There are three reasons for it!
Language points
Why is football so popular
It is a simple and cheap game to play.
Reason 1
Example
The young Pelé played football to his heart’s content with a ball made of plastic bags.
Language points
That football is such a simple game to play is perhaps the basis of its popularity. It is also a game that is very cheap to play.
Another factor behind football’s global popularity is the creativity and excitement on the field.
What’s more, football has become one of the best ways for people to communicate.
For one thing …. For another, …. Perhaps the primary reason is …
2. First of all… What’s more/ Besides/ Furthermore… Last but not the least…
King Pelé
Why is pelé mentioned in the para 2
It is a simple and cheap game to play.
Language points
That football is such a simple game to play is perhaps the basis of its popularity. It is also a game that is very cheap to play. You don't need expensive equipment; even the ball doesn't have to cost much money. All over the world you can see kids playing to their hearts' content with a ball made of plastic bags; just like Pele did when he was a boy.
▲6.That football is such a simple game to play这是that引导的主语从句,在这个复合句中作主语。
