John Snow (1813-1858), he was an English anesthesiologist(麻醉学家) and epidemiologist(流行病学家) who is considered a pioneer in anesthesiology and public health medicine. He was the first to propose measures to prevent cholera, and his study of the 1854 cholera outbreak in Soho, west London, is considered a pioneer in epidemiological research.
