VI. Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Lead-in (3 minutes)
1. Show some pictures of both Beijing and Xi'an's famous scenic spots on the multimedia screen, such as the Forbidden City in Beijing and the Terracotta Army in Xi'an.
2. Ask students: "We have two amazing cities here. Have you been to either of them What do you expect to do if you could travel to one of them " to arouse their interest in the topic.
Step 2: Reading the Sample Travel Plan (7 minutes)
1. Direct students to turn to page 30 of the textbook and read Richard's travel plan to Xi'an carefully.
2. While students are reading, ask them to note down the key elements like destinations, activities, and travel arrangements in Richard's plan.
3. After reading, quickly ask a few students to briefly share what they have noted down to check their understanding.
Step 3: Analyzing the Sample (5 minutes)
1. Guide students to analyze Richard's travel plan together:
- How does Richard introduce his travel plan
- What destinations does he mention What activities will he do there
- How does he describe his travel arrangements (transportation, accommodation, etc.)
2. Point out the good writing techniques and expressions used in the sample, such as clear organization and vivid descriptions of activities.
Step 4: Writing Task Introduction (3 minutes)
1. Explain the writing task: "Now, you are going to pretend to be Xiaoli. Write a letter to Richard, telling him about your own travel plan to Beijing. You can learn from Richard's way of writing."
2. Remind students to include details like destinations, activities, and travel arrangements in their letters.
Step 5: Individual Writing (12 minutes)
1. Students start writing their letters to Richard about their travel plan to Beijing.
2. Walk around the classroom to monitor students' writing progress, offer immediate guidance on language use and grammar, and encourage them to write clearly and coherently.
Step 6: Peer Review (5 minutes)
1. Ask students to exchange their written letters with their neighbors.
2. Each student should read their partner's letter carefully and give feedback based on the following aspects:
- Is the travel plan clearly stated with enough details
- Are the sentence structures and expressions used correctly
- Is the writing organized with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion
- Are there any grammar or spelling mistakes
3. After reading, students discuss the feedback with their partners to make improvements.
Step 7: Summary (3 minutes)
1. Briefly summarize the key points of this writing activity, emphasizing the importance of clear details, correct language use, and logical organization in writing a travel plan.
2. Encourage students to keep practicing writing travel plans to improve their writing skills.
VII. Homework
Ask students to rewrite their letters at home, making further improvements based on the peer review feedback. Then, ask them to share their final letters with a classmate or family member.

本次高中英语写作课基本达成目标,有诸多优点。教学环节设计合理紧凑,导入吸睛,读写结合、同伴互评等环节有序推进,助力学生明确写作要点。注重培养多种能力,如阅读理解、写作及合作学习与批判性思维能力。教学方法多样且有效。教学反馈及时,能指导学生改进。 但也存在不足。时间把控不够精准,个别环节耗时影响写作时间。对学生个体差异关注不够,部分学生未得到充分针对性帮助。日后教学需优化时间分配,增加个性化环节,提升教学质量,让学生更好掌握写作技能。
