宾语从句
1.语序
宾语从句必须用陈述句语序,即连接词+主语+谓语+其他部分。如:
I don't know where she comes from.

what、 which、 who、 whose、 whom等 在从句中作一定的成分,如主语、宾语、定语等 He got off and asked the woman what happened.他下车询问那位妇女发生了什么。
when、 why、 where、 how等 在从句中作状语 Could you please tell me where the restrooms are 你能告诉我洗手间在哪里吗
if/whether 意为“是否”,不作句子成分,但不能省略,当宾语从句由一般疑问句转换而来时,引导词用if或whether I wonder if they'll have the races again next year.我想知道他们明年是否还会举行比赛。 I don't know whether he will come or not.我不知道他是否会来。
3.时态
时态 例句
主句是现在的时态,从句时态可根据实际情况而定 Bill thinks that the races were not very interesting to watch.Bill认为观看这些比赛不是非常有趣。
主句是过去的时态,从句也要用过去的时态 I knew who lived here.我知道过去谁住在这儿。
从句表示客观真理、自然现象等时,无论主句是何种时态,从句都要用一般现在时 The teacher told the boy that the earth is round.老师告诉那个男孩地球是圆的。
如果宾语从句的主语和主句的主语相同,且主句的谓语动词是 know、 remember、 forget、 learn等词时,从句可简化为“疑问词+不定式”结构 She doesn't know what she should do next.=She doesn't know what to do next.她不知道接下来该做什么。
定语从句
(一)定语从句的结构
在复合句中,修饰一个名词或代词的从句叫定语从句。英语中的定语从句放在被修饰的名词或代词之后,一般用关系代词或关系副词来引导。例如:
(1)He is the boy. 他是那个男孩。
(2)We want to look for the boy. 我们想找这个男孩。
我们可以把这两个句子合并:
定语从句
He is the boy who (whom) we want to look for
先行词 关系词
先行词是被修饰的名词或代词。关系词是用来引导定语从句的词,包括关系代词(who, whom, whose, that, which)和关系副词(where, when, why)。当关系代词作从句的主语时,谓语动词的人称和数要和先行词保持一致。
(二)定语从句的关系词
所作成分 关系词
主语 who(指人)、which(指物)、that(指人或物)
宾语 who/whom(指人)、which(指物)、that(指人或物)
定语 whose(指人或物)
状语 where(指地点)、when(指时间)、why(指原因)
引导定语从句常见的关系代词有who、whom、whose、which、that。当关系代词在从句中作动词的宾语时,关系代词经常可以省略。引导定语从句的关系副词有where、when和why。注意what不能引导定语从句。
(三)辨析定语从句的关系词
who/whom who/whom引导的定语从句所修饰的先行词必须指人。who在从句中作主语、宾语;whom在从句中作宾语,常可省略。在从句中作介词的宾语时,只能用whom,即“介词+whom”
who/ that 当先行词指人时,引导词用who或that均可。如果先行词是one、ones、anyone或those时,一般用who
that/ which 多数情况下,不管关系代词在从句中是作主语还是宾语,两者都可替换使用。当先行词是anything、everything、nothing等不定代词,或先行词被序数词、形容词最高级修饰或先行词既指人又指物时,只能用that。如果关系代词作介词的宾语时,只能用which,不能用that
where/ whose 关系副词where在从句中作地点状语,它引导的定语从句修饰表地点的先行词。whose引导的定语从句所修饰的先行词既可以指人也可以指物,意为“某(些)人/物的……”

(一)状语从句的引导词

(二)状语从句的时态
主将 从现 在时间状语从句或条件状语从句中,主句用一般将来时,从句用一般现在时表示一般将来时
过去 时态 在since引导的时间状语从句中,从句常用一般过去时,主句常用现在完成时或一般现在时,如“It is/has been+时间段+since+一般过去时”
主现 从现 若主句是祈使句或主句中有情态动词,那么从句常用一般现在时表示一般将来时
(三)辨析if和when引导的宾语从句和状语从句
从词义 来判断 if作宾语从句的连接词时,相当于whether,词义为“是否”;if引导条件状语从句时,词义为“如果”
when作宾语从句的连接词时,词义为“什么时候”;when引导时间状语从句时,词义为“在……的时候”
从时态 来判断 if和when引导宾语从句时,宾语从句中的谓语动词的时态应根据主句的谓语动词的时态作相应的变化
if和when引导条件状语从句或时间状语从句时,若主句中的谓语动词用了一般将来时,则从句中的谓语动词通常用一般现在时表示将来
