Prepare for a test
In your school, tests or quizzes(小测) may be a part of your regular classroom work. 16 If taking a test makes you feel worried, the good news is that there are many easy ways for you to prepare and feel better before an exam or quiz. Here is how to get started.
Be organized
Studying for a test will be easier if you organize your notes, handouts, and homework ahead of time for each of your classes. 17 You can use a separate folder(文件夹) for each subject. You can keep them at home at school, or in your backpack.
Make a plan
18 This might mean spending 30 minutes studying for a few afternoons the week before the test. Or maybe you have more time on the weekends and want to plan extra study time then. No matter what you decide, block out the time on your calendar so you remember.
Focus on the right material(材料)
If you have learned a lot of material, ask your teacher what information will be on the test. If your teacher hands out a study guide, use that guide to help you find out what information you need to pay attention to most. Next, decide how you want to review. the material. Besides reviewing your notes, you could write key points on flash cards to test yourself. 19 If there is something you are not clear about, highlight(标亮) that part and ask your teacher for help.
Use smart strategies(策略)
As the day of the test comes closer, be sure to get enough sleep the night before and eat a healthy breakfast on the test day. You don’t want to be distracted(分神) by feeling hungry during the test! When you sit down to take the exam, give yourself a few minutes to review the whole test. You can start by answering the first question, but you can also work on questions in a later section that you find easier to answer. For multiple-choice questions(单选题), cross off answers that you know are incorrect(不正确的). 20 The correct answer may come to you later. Finally, if you finish the test before the time ends, instead of turning your test in right away, go back and review all your answers to check for any mistakes. You can do well!
A.This way, the information will be there for you when you need to review it
B.Write the question on one side of the card and the answer on the other.
C.Many teachers use, them to make sure that students have learned correctly.
D.If you still have more than one answer left, move on to the next question.
E.Once you have a test date, ask an adult to help you look at a calendar and make a plan for when you’ll study.

Chantek stayed at the university for 8 years. He sometimes even walked to classes with students. But in 1986, Chantek escaped from his room and frightened a student. 29 He spent 11 years there living in a cage and becoming overweight and unhappy.
Chantek was moved to the Altanta Zoo in 1997. 30 But he was too shy to do it with strangers. Miles often visited Chantek at the zoo. When we woke up in the morning, we got out of our tents to make breakfast. 33 “It must be a bear,” we thought. Although we were angry, we could do nothing.
We had no food for breakfast, so we went down the mountain early. And then we saw it — our bag of food was under a tree. 34 Inside the bag was a big raccoon (浣熊). The raccoon looked at us and made a sound like a cat. Then, three baby raccoons came out of the bag, and they all walked away.

Although fish may not sleep like people, they do rest. One way to know if a fish is resting is to watch what it is doing. 42 Some fish move at the bottom of the water. Some move slowly near the top of the water.
You can know some fish are resting because they stay in one place. 43 For example, some sharks (keep swimming so that they can breathe in the water. Although these sharks are always swimming, they may still be resting. 44 the organ(器官)allows them to keep their body moving while they are resting.
Another way to know if a fish is resting is to watch how it reacts to(对……作出反应) things. 45 If you have a pet fish at home, try giving your fish some food when it is resting. The fish will spend more time noticing the food than it does when staying awake(醒着).

Car pools are a common way of transportation for many students in the US. You, along with many of your friends, can sit in one car. 47 And your parents may take turns to drive you all to school.
48 If you’re late, you can eat that breakfast you don’t have time for at home. If you’re behind on your homework, this is your last chance to finish it before class. Some simply add to their sleep time before classes begin. Besides walking or cycling to class, car pools are green if you can’t take the school bus. Instead of four cars taking four students to school each day, they can all squeeze(挤) into one. 49
More importantly, car pooling teaches students valuable life lessons not taught in class. It can teach students about being on time. It can also teach them the bad influence of being late. 50

B.This is the daily car pool to school.

Lu Xun, born in Shaoxinng County in Zhejiang Province on September 25, 1881, was one of the country’s greatest thinkers and writers in the 20th century. 91

For me, one of the greatest happiness in life is going to watch a great film at the cinema. 96 There’s nothing better than being lost in a movie story unless, of course, someone breaks down the moment.
At a cinema, there are always people treating the place like their own home! They don’t know how to behave.
97 So, you have to rise from your seat to allow them to go past. Then, when you want to enjoy the surround-sound effects, someone begins to enjoy their drinks and popcorn and makes a lot of noises. And what I can’t stand most is that they chat to their friends, sometimes not even about the film.
I’m not alone in this situation. 98 He says, “The woman in front of me got a mirror out, then her boyfriend used the light on his phone to allow her to do her make-up!”
Simon has helped to create a list of rules on how moviegoers should behave at the cinema. One of them is no use of mobile phones, and another is not to take your shoes off—a most serious offence (冒犯)!
Of course, when we have paid for a ticket, we feel it is our right to relax and enjoy the film in the way we want to. 99
If someone wants to break the rules of cinema manners, the best choice for him is to get a DVD and watch it at home. But we all know that the best way to enjoy the art and the sound effect of a film is on the big screen. 100
A.To start with, some people always arrive late.
B.It’s your choice!
C.However, we mustn’t forget the other moviegoers around us who want to enjoy the cinematic experience, too.
D.It’s a chance for me to get away from real life.
