语 态
语态用来表示主语和谓语之间的关系。
主动语态:主语是动作的执行者
e.g. Many people still read their works today.
(该句为主动语态,主语many people是动作read的执行者,宾语their works是动作read的承受者。)

一般现在时的被动语态
I. 被动语态的概念
一般现在时被动语态表示现阶段经常性、习惯性的被动动作,由主语+is/am/are+及物动词过去分词构成,需要说明动作执行者时可加上by+动作执行者,句中主语就是原主动语态的宾语,动作执行者就是原主动语态的主语。is/am/are由主语的单复数形式而定,主语为第三人称单数名词或代词时用is,主语为I时用am。主语为复数名词或代词或时用are。

Ⅱ. 被动语态的构成:
主语(动作接受者) + is / am / are + 及物动词的过去分词 (+by+ 动作执行者).
e.g. Table tennis is played in most countries in the world.
I am moved to tears by the movie.
The children are not allowed to go out at night.

被动语态的句型总结如下:
肯定句: 主语 + be(am/is/are) + 过去分词 + (by ~~).
e.g. The boy is called Little Fatty by his friends.
否定句: 主语 + be not+ 过去分词 (+by …).
e.g. The baby is not looked after by his parents.
一般疑问句: Be +主语 + 过去分词 (+by …)
e.g. Is this bridge built in the 1990s
特殊疑问句: 特殊疑问词+ be + 主语+过去分词 (+by …)

III. 被动语态的用法:
1) 要表达“被…、受…、遭…、让…”之类的语义。
e.g. Teachers are well respected. 教师很受尊敬。
2) 强调动作承受者
e.g. He is well known far and wide. 他远近闻名。
3) 不知道或没有必要指出动作的执行者
e.g. The room is cleaned every day.房子每天都有人打扫。

A sample:
It is widely accepted that films and books both play an important role in our daily life. However, some people think that we are more influenced by films than by books. I disagree with this statement.
First, films are usually thought to be a form of entertainment, while books are more informative and can spread considerable knowledge. Thus, reading can broaden our mind and develop our language skills.
Second, reading books helps to improve our thinking ability better, compared with watching films. It allows readers to use their active imagination to do logical thinking.
