Hou Yi felt very angry. He gave them another warning (警告). But the suns still didn’t listen to him. So he started to shoot them. One after another, Hou Yi shot down nine suns. Only one was left. Hou Yi saved the world.

Do you know a saying about the swan feather (天鹅羽毛)
This saying comes from a historic book called Lu Shi. According to the story, a Tang Dynasty official (唐朝官员) in Yunnan wanted to show his respect (尊重) to the emperor (君主). He sent a man named Mian Bogao to bring some gifts to the emperor. One of the gifts was a beautiful swan, and it was a very valuable gift at the time.
Mian took good care of the swan on his way to the emperor. One day he passed by a lake and wanted to let the swan drink some water. But as soon as he set the swan free, the swan flew away, leaving only some feathers on the ground. Mian was very worried, but he didn’t run away. He decided to tell the emperor what happened. He picked up a feather and kept going on his trip.
When Mian met the emperor, he told him what happened and said, “This swan feather is light, but it carries my deep respect for you.” The emperor was happy because he thought Mian was honest. People now use the saying to show that a good gift doesn’t have to be expensive. What matters is the sincerity it carries.

According to legend, at the beginning of the world, the sky and the earth were not separated, and there was only darkness and chaos (混沌).
Our ancestor (祖先) Pangu, a giant, was born and grew up in it for 108,000 years. One day, he suddenly woke up. Opening his eyes, he found that everything was unclear and could not be seen.
Angrily, he grasped an axe (斧子) and wielded (挥舞) it with an effort. With a bang, the chaos was separated all of a sudden.
Something light and clear rose slowly and became the sky, while the heavy, cloudy thing slowly went down and became the earth.
After separating the sky and the earth, Pangu propped up the sky with his head and stepped firmly on the ground with his feet, fearing that they might close again.
The sky rose by one Zhang each day, and the earth sank by the same amount. Pangu grew alongside them.
As thousands of years passed, the sky and the earth finally separated completely, but Pangu died because of exhaustion (筋疲力尽).
After his death, his breath turned into the wind and clouds; his voice turned into the thunder; his eyes turned into the sun and the moon. His four limbs (肢) became the four poles, and his body became the mountains of the earth. His blood turned into the rivers, and his muscles and bones turned into the roads of the earth. His flesh (肉体) became the soil; his hair turned into the stars, flowers and trees. Even his sweat turned into rain and dew.
