表示主句行为的原因的从句是原因状语从句。
原因状语从句的连词引导，常用的是because。
eg. We went by bus because it was cheaper.
　 我们乘公交汽车去，因为这样便宜一些。
I do it because I like it.
　 我做这件事是因为我喜欢。
1.原因状语从句
注意:
1) because 习惯上不能与 so 连用;
2) because引导的原因状语从句有时可以与带有because of 短语的句子互换。
eg. I can’t get to sleep because there is noise outside.
= I can’t get to sleep because of the noise outside.
　由于外面声音嘈杂我睡不着。
表示主句行为的目的从句是目的状语从句。
目的状语从句的连词引导，常用的是so that。
eg. I got up early so that I could catch the first bus.
我起得很早，目的是为了赶上头班公共汽车。
She worked hard so that everything would be ready by 5 o'clock.
她努力工作，以便在五点前是一切都就绪。
2.目的状语从句
结果状语从句表示“由某个行为而导致的结果”。
结果状语从句的连词引导，常用的是so。
eg. He worked too hard, so he fell ill again.
他工作过于劳累, 结果又病倒了。
I like it so I do it .我喜欢它所以我做这件事。

Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was born on 12th May 1820. In 1851, she
was trained as a nurse. Three years later, she went to a British military hospital so that she could help British soldiers. Before she arrived, many soldiers died in the hospital because it was dirty. Florence Nightingale worked hard to make the hospital clean and save soldiers’ lives. When she returned to Britain in 1856, she became a national hero. Florence Nightingale wrote several books about nursing, and she also started a school to train nurses. She died in London on 13th August 1910, when she was ninety years old.
