Teenage life is quite dramatic but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy your life in these years. Even with your daily troubles, your life is not very hard if you know how to deal with them.
I know exactly how you feel. Teenage life can be hard. You are not a kid anymore, because you are smart enough to consider your surroundings. However, you are still not an adult because there are still lots of experiences that you need to have and lessons that you need to learn from these experiences, Above all, the hormonal (荷尔蒙的)imbalance in your body can really mess you up. I have been there. I was in it for six years exploring what life is about!
As a teenager, I had a major problem completing my routine tasks on time. And at that time, all that I needed to do was to finish my homework, study for the upcoming tests and clean my room. Now, I have much more things to do: cooking, cleaning and working while keeping a balance between all my relationships related to work, family and friends. That really is a lot of work. So, I will just give you one golden tip, “Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.”
Life becomes much easier now because I finish all my work on time and I have enough time to let my hair down. Half the problems of teenagers appear because we hate doing things. We’d rather go and have fun than sit down and take on our responsibilities. That is why you have so much trouble in your life; your parents won’t let you go out with friends because you haven’t cleaned your room or your teacher is always criticizing you because you haven’t finished your homework.

A. The physical changes. B. The lack of life experience.

B. setting his own experiences as example
C. listing all of his troubles in his childhood
D. showing the numerous assignments for children
27. What does the writer advise teenagers to do
A. Finish their homework. B. Go and have fun.
C. Take on responsibilities. D. Give up their friends.

The hike to the lost Incan city of Choquequirao is one of the most difficult in Peru. From the town of Cachora, which is 161 km west of Cusco, it’s an 18 km walk to Capuliyoc Mountain, then down to Playa Rosalina, where travellers camp for the night. Waking early, travellers then have to cross the Apurímac River and walk uphill to camp close to the ruins. Then, the next morning, it’s another 2 km walk up to the ruins, 3,100 m above sea level. To get back Well, it’s the same way you come.
“I’ve seen people in their 60s and 70s do it,” said Juan Barrios, a guide from the Adventure Life company. “But some people come out thinking that because it’s only 28 km from the drop-off they can do it in a day. Six or seven days for the hike is best.”
It makes sense, then, that Choquequirao draws only about 30 people a day during the high season (June through pare that to the 2,500 people who arrive each day at the famous Incan city of Machu Picchu.
But for those who make the journey, the rewards (回报) are great: beautiful mountain views at every turn, and the chance to explore the wonderful ruins nearly alone.
Believed to be created around the same time as Machu Picchu, in 1445, Choquequirao is actually larger than better-known Machu Picchu. But very little has been written about Peru’s other lost city and researchers are still uncovering new parts of the ruins, leaving-life on the mountain relatively untouched.
But officials say that the building of the first cable car (缆车) to Choquequirao will shorten the several-day walk to a 15-minute cable car ride. As a result, the number of travellers that now make the journey each week could turn into 3,000 visitors per day.
Choquequirao is beautiful now because of how untouched it is. Even though the lost city was discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Arias Díaz in 1710, the ruins still make you feel as though you’re the first to find them. Will it be the same when more travellers flood in (大量涌入)
28. What does the first paragraph center on
A. The height of Choquequirao. B. The hard trip to Choquequirao.
C. The transport to Choquequirao. D. The amazing views of Choquequirao.
29. According to the author, how many days for the hike is best
A. 1 day. B. 2-3 days C. 4-5 days D. 6 or 7 days
30. How are the ruins of Choquequirao
A. They’re still being dug out.
B. They’re in generally poor condition.
C. They’re being renewed at the moment.
D. They’ve been researched internationally.
31. What does the author think of Choquequirao in the future
A. It will be more attractive.
B. It will develop at slow speed.
C. It won’t necessarily take a turn for the better.
D. It won’t be more popular than Machu Picchu.
D
Over millions of years, humans have responded to certain situations without thinking too hard. If our ancestors spotted movement in the nearby forest, they would run first and question later. At the same time, the ability to analyze and to plan is part of what separates us from other animals. The question of when to trust your instinct (直觉) and when to think slow matters in the office as much as in the savannah (草原).
Slow thinking is the feature of a well-managed workplace. Yet instinct also has its place. Some decisions are more connected to emotional responses and less to analysis. In demanding customer-service or public-facing situations, instinct is often a better guide to how to behave.
Instinct can also be improved. Plenty of research has shown that instinct becomes more accurate with experience. In one well-known experiment, volunteers were asked to assess whether a selection of designer handbags were real or not. Some were instructed to operate on instinct and others to deliberate (深思熟虑) over their decision. Instinct worked better for those who owned at least three designer handbags; indeed, it outperformed analysis. The more expert you become, the better your instinct tends to be.
However, the real reason to embrace fast thinking is that it is, well, fast. It is often the only way to get through the day. To take one example, when your inbox floods with new emails at the start of a new day, there is completely no way to read them all carefully. Instinct is what helps you decide which ones to answer and which to remove or leave unopened. Fast thinking can also help the entire organization. The value of many managerial decisions lies in the simple fact that they have been made at all. Yet as data explodes, the temptation (诱惑) to ask for one more bit of analysis has become much harder to resist. Managers often suffer from overthinking, turning a simple problem into a complex one.
When to use instinct in the workplace rests on its own form of pattern recognition. Does the decision-maker have real expertise in this area Is this a field in which emotion matters more than reasoning Above all, is it worth putting the decision off Slow thinking is needed to get the big calls right. But fast thinking is the way to stop deliberation turning to a waste of time.
32: How does Paragraph 3 mainly develop
A. By example. B. By comparison. C. By process. D. By classification.
33. Which of the following situation may be suitable for the people to trust their instinct
A. People choose one job among three.
B. The time window of making decision is unlimited.
C. The customer gets cross for uncertain reasons.
D. Anew product designed for teenagers is under discussion.
34. What does the underlined word “embrace” in Paragraph 4 probably mean
A. Include. B. Hug. C. Improve. D. Accept.
35. What can we learn from the passage
A. Managers can afford the cost of slow thinking.
B. Fast thinking can be a push to work efficiency.
C. Slow thinking will hold us back in the long run.
D. Too much data is to blame for wrong decisions.

It was a week after my mom had passed away and I didn’t know how to go on with life. So when I received an email from a friend about a race benefiting cancer research, I ignored it. It seemed to prick my heart, as cancer was the disease that had taken my mother away from me.
But something about my friend’s words—“I can help organize the whole thing”—stuck with me, I felt obliged (有义务的) to agree. In the weeks to come, I managed to re-enter the world of the living. 36 I knew my mom would have wanted it that way: She was the type who never got defeated. It was this very spirit that helped me get by.
When the race ended, I noticed the runners all had one thing in common: 37 They made it look so rewarding and effortless. I wanted in.
So I enrolled (报名参加) in another race two months later. Considering I could barely run a mile, it was ambitious. 38 I followed it religiously and didn’t let anything get in my way.
Running up and down the city’s hills, I was flooded with memories. I had lived there after college and my mother had visited often. I passed Bloomingdale’s, recalling the time she and I had gotten into a screaming argument there.
I was about to beat myself up when I remembered what Mom had said after her diagnosis of cancer. “I don’t want you to feel guilty about anything.” Her paper-thin hands had held me tightly. 39
When the race day arrived, I gave it my all for my mom and for all she had taught me and continued to teach me. 40 Crossing the finish line, I was filled with her love and a sense of peace.
A. They tried their best.
B. But I couldn’t help weeping.
C. A weight lifted from my shoulders.
D. There were big smiles on their faces.
E. But my friend and I made a training plan so I wouldn’t come in last.
F. As I ran, whenever I felt like slowing down, I pictured her cheering me on.
G. I checked our team’s website daily, feeling proud each time a donation ticked up our total.

First of all, I don’t think you need to worry too much about your weight, for it is not weight but health that is important for us. Nothing is more important than health. To keep fit, you’d better have a balanced diet, which provides enough energy for your body to function well. Moreover, it’s of great importance to take regular exercise and have adequate sleep. Sports like riding and walking are beneficial to your health and thus can help keep you in shape.
If you take my suggestions into account, you will find them helpful.
Yours,
Li Hua

M: Sorry, Lily. I really want to, but I’ve already got plans. I’ll go swimming with my family this weekend.
W: I loved swimming when I was little. I remember I feared jumping off the diving board and my father encouraged me. Finally I made it.
M: I want to encourage my son Christopher to make his first jump this Saturday. I’m afraid he’ll fear doing that too.
W: In this case, why not let him read the book titled Jabari Jumps written by Gaia Cornwall first It’s about a boy who is scared to make a jump. It teaches children to overcome their fears.
M: That sounds like a good idea. Do you have the book
W: No. I read the book at my friend Lucy’s home. She bought it for her son Tom. But you can easily find it on Amazon. It costs just about 11 dollars.
M: OK. I’ll look for it on the site.

W: It seemed like a normal day for my parents and me. Around 5:00 pm, my mother was taking a shower, my father was reading the newspaper while I was reading a book for fun. Suddenly, I felt that my legs shook for no reason and that the floor was shaking. I fell down on the floor. Then I heard my father shouting, “Earthquake! All run out!” And it wasn’t until then that I realized we were in an earthquake. I wanted to run out, but I was worried about my mother, who hadn’t come out. I went under the table and kept calling “Mom”. Seeing I didn’t go out, my father joined me and came under the table. My mother responded back by calling my name. When the earthquake stopped, I slowly went out of the table and saw my mother come out. It only lasted for around one to two minutes, but I felt like a century. Finally, we all ran out. Luckily, it wasn’t a big earthquake and no one in our neighborhood died in it.
