Six months ago, 19-year-old Xie Lei said goodbye to her family and friends and boarded a plane for London. It was the first time that she had left China. “I was very excited but also quite nervous. I didn’t know what to expect,” Xie Lei recalled.
"I chose the exchange programme because I wanted to learn about global business and improve my English. My ambition is to set up a business in China after graduation," she explained.

My exchange visit to Woodpark School has gone well.
I have enjoyed my studies at the school. I have had classes with British students. I have learnt a lot about British culture and history. I have taken part in school club activities. I have also introduced Tai'chi and Chinese painting to the British students.
My host family are friendly. she have cooked me delicious British food. We have had a picnic together. she have taken me to the British Museum. I have played football with British friends. I have also visited some places of interest with them, such as the London Tower Bridge.
