教学目标
1. To get familiar with the history and development of the Chinese characters writing system; 2. To Identify the main structure of the passage and talk about a topic through time line; 3. To Use some important words and phrases to describe the development of Chinese writing system.
教学重难点
教学重点: 1. To have an understanding of the development and important role of Chinese characters and introduce the development of Chinese characters in English;
2. To improve the ability of skimming and scanning.
教学难点: 1. The ability of analysis and logical thinking;
2. The comprehension of importance of Chinese characters to spread Chinese culture.
教学过程
Step 1: Free Talk Q1: Can you recognize the following symbols Q2: Do you know how Chinese characters develop (watch a video) 设计意图:通过认识古代图片类的文字以及观看汉字发展史的视频,学生已经对汉字的发展史有了一定的了解。 Step 2: Pre-reading : 1.Look at the title and picture below. Predict what the text will be about. 2.According to the title, can you guess how the text is organized 设计意图:引导学生阅读文章之前从文章的题目和文中的图片入手,预测文章大意;并引导学生思考文章的写作手法,激起学生的阅读兴趣、好奇心以及探索汉字书写体系的内驱力。 Step 3: While-reading : Read for the main idea and structure. Q1: How many parts can this passage be divided into Why Underline the topic sentences and find out the structure of the whole passage. 设计意图:帮助学生梳理文章脉络,通过阅读进一步证实读前预测问题的重要性,得出文章是关于中国汉字书写体系的主旨大意;通过每一段主旨句的寻找与概括,让学生明白汉字书写体系的发展史,增强学生的文化自信,为进一步讨论文章叙述的时间顺序做好铺垫。 Read for detailed information and answer the question. The first part: topic Q1: Why can Chinese ancient civilisation pass down The second part: history and development Q2: what happened at each of those important times (Time line) The third part: importance Q1: Why are characters important Summary 设计意图:读中环节帮助学生更好地掌握汉字的发展史,理解时间顺序的重要性且掌握一些表时间顺序的词;解读重要性,呼应标题中的题眼 “连接”(connecting)的一条暗线,说明汉字书写体系对中华文明传承数千年所起到的重要作用。 Step 4: Post-reading : Discussion: As a Chinese teenager, what will you do to help spread Chinese culture 设计意图:这个活动主要是基于知识的迁移和创新,帮助学生将所学知识进行应用,强化学生的语用意识,引导学生形成正确的价值观,树立传承文明,传播文化的社会责任感。 Step 5: Thinking 设计意图:学生已经对汉字书写体系的发展以及影响有了一定程度的了解,这一思考活动可以加强学生对中华文化的自豪感和认同感,增强对母语学习和中华文化的自信。 Step 6: Homework
