1.Knowledge objective
(1) To master the useful words and expressions.
Words: snake, neck, thin, danger, interested, allows, wild, protect, wild, grow, enough, produce, raise, symbol
Expressions: in danger, at last, be interested in, think of, take away, in peace, on earth, in order to, look after, set up
(2) To learn the grammar knowledge of infinitive.
2. Ability objective
(1) To understand the conversation about animals in danger.
(2) To listen for specific information.
(3) To talk about animals in danger, using infinitive structures (as object complements and adverbials of purpose)
3 Moral objective
(1) Arouse their sense of loving animals and know how to protect them.
(2) Arouse their sense of protecting environment and improving its publicity
ⅡAnalysis of learning situation
1. Analysis of the text
The text is Module 6, Unit 1, which is from the English book by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.
Module 6 takes “Protect the animals in danger” as the topic. It introduces some animals in danger, especially our national treasure animal –panda and its protection measure.
The dialogue in Unit 1 is about the discussion between Betty and Lingling after their visit to the zoo.
2. Analysis of the students
The students are of Grade 8 in junior High School .They have learnt English for more than 4 years since Grade 4 in the primary school. They have some basic knowledge in English. They are teenagers and are interested in animals. Some students can express in English ,while others can’t.

Step 1 Lead-in
Ss look at the pictures and say what the animals in danger are.
Step 2 Preparations
Guessing game. Teacher show some hint sentences and pics of animals and let Ss to guess what the animals are.
Step 3 Listening
Listen and answer the questions.
a ) What is this week’s Animal World about
b) What animals are in danger
Step 4 Watching and reading.
a ) Look at the video of the dialogue with the question :
What’s the dialogue taking about (Main idea)
b) Read the text quickly ,then the teacher gives out the language points in the dialogue including the grammar –to do.
To do : ask sb. to do sth. need sb. to do sth.
want sb. to do sth. allow sb. to do sth.
Step 5 Watch again and check the sentences true or false.
Step 6 Complete the passage with the words and phrases in the box.
Step 7 Complete the table.
Discussion Work in groups to discuss the two questions and add more information to the table.
Step 8 Ask and answer .Work in pairs.
Step 9 Talk about how to save the animals in danger.

Free talk: What can we do to save / protect animals in danger

A quiz and free talk about protecting animals in danger in the beginning of the next lesson.
Ⅹ Reflection
Listening exercise can be added to improve students’ listening ability.
